It may be a world of pumpkins and spice in Disney World right now (or still near 100 degrees!) but it’s time to start thinking about the Christmas season.
Disney just dropped a BOMBSHELL on everyone with details of what is — and more importantly ISN’T — going to be included in this year’s festivities at Disney World. We’ve now learned a long-time fan-favorite tradition won’t be making the cut this year.
There won’t be as much of the sweet scent of gingerbread in the air in Disney World as we’re used to this Holiday Season. Disney has announced that their beloved gingerbread displays at various hotels around Disney World will NOT be on display this year.
We typically can expect to see elaborate gingerbread displays like the MASSIVE house in the lobby of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa or the gorgeous carousel in the lobby of Disney’s Beach Club Resort but it appears this year, due to social distancing guidelines, Disney has opted to forgo the elaborate displays.
Holiday fun WILL still be available, though modified to fit new guidelines. Resorts will still be decorated with trees and other decor, special holiday cavalcades will be present in the parks, Festival of the Holidays at EPCOT will be returning, and more. Stay tuned for all the latest holiday news out of Disney World!

What do you think of this big change in Disney World this holiday season? Let us know in the comments!
Makes sense. They start months in advance just making gingerbread for the houses. They don’t have extra time or staff to do it now and it would be a late start.
So I guess they’ll be no snack stand either. I’m really going to miss the goodies there, especially the peppermint bark. Bummer.
I must admit I’m extremely disappointed. I realize a lot of work is involved but I don’t really see why they couldn’t be enjoyed at a distance just like everything else!
Ridiculous Could it be that Disney is trying corners anywhere they can ! May as well just close the place down !
What about the ginger bread house in the haunted mansion
dinning room scene
The magic is gone do not waste your money it is not fun any more
It seems a lot less for your money and expectations Understandably without all the furloughed people they just cant do it all! However, we are still paying same prices and more That doesnt seem right we will be going in spite of this because we love Disney and our DVC and our Fl annual passes! Our choice I guess I think thats what they are counting on B
We were in Disney in October. Despite everything it was still wonderful. Even though it is not the same as past years, it is still the happiest place that you can be so go and get jolly, dang it 🙂
