Lately, with all of our feverish excitement, we’ve been feeling like groupies for the construction barges at Disney World!
It’s without question that EPCOT’s upcoming nighttime spectacular, Harmonious, is one of our most anticipated attractions in Disney World, which is why we get SUPER psyched any time we see new construction afloat. And continuing this pattern of eager fandom, we spotted another construction barge on World Showcase Lagoon today!Â
Ever since we started getting details about Harmonious and what it’s going to look like, we’ve been following construction progress step-by-step, from backstage sneak peeks to the first set pieces!Â
Now, in a sure sign of steady progress, we’re pleased to report that there’s another construction barge on EPCOT’s lagoon. Floating to the side of the pre-existing pair of barges is another barge loaded with heavy-duty construction equipment.Â

Construction Barge
Clearly, Disney is kicking things into high gear to get the show started this year!Â

Construction Barge
This heavy equipment is surely necessary, considering Harmonious will be one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created by Disney World!
As usual, we’ll continue to stalk the barges from afar and keep you posted on more Harmonious construction updates!Â
PHOTOS! The second Harmonious barge has arrived at EPCOT!

But the question that EVERYONE is wondering, that DFB has not answered yet…
Are the barges permanent? Or are they temporary? Like the barges for the other shows?
Because currently these barges are a major eye sore.
Hi, Brandon! We answered this question here!
Just re read the article at the link you mentioned still do not see an answer to my previous question.
“Are the barges permanent? Or are they temporary? As in they will be removed after each performance?”
Hi, Brandon. Thanks for reaching out. The barges will be permanent fixtures in World Showcase Lagoon, and they’ll function as fountains when they’re not in use for the performance.
They r big, but as fountains they may look pretty cool rather than obtrusive; time will tell.
