PHOTOS! Construction Continues on EPCOT’s Upcoming Fireworks Show

EPCOT is very much Disney World’s work-in-progress park right now.

From the HUGE construction in Future World to the major upcoming attractions, we’re seeing a LOT of work in the park. Recently, we’ve found ourselves super focused on the construction for EPCOT’s new nighttime spectacular and we saw more work today.

Harmonious — A Nighttime Spectacular was expected to debut last year but was delayed due to the global health crisis. As of right now, an official opening date has yet to be announced. Now, we’ve been spotting regular updates on the massive barges in the middle of World Showcase Lagoon.

We’ve watched as the first barge was added and then more hit the waters, the SIX-STORY tall centerpiece was installed, and as the barges lit up at night! Today, we’ve spotted workers out on the lagoon doing more preparation for the show!

The barges have been surrounded by construction equipment on smaller barges for a few weeks now and today, workers had some of the equipment in use.

A boom lift was fully extended so that crews could make some adjustments to the centerpiece barge.

Whew! That’s pretty high up! We wonder what exactly they’re working on.
