It’s springtime in Disney World and that means Easter treats are EVERYWHERE.
We’ve seen cupcakes, cakes, chocolate desserts, and everything in-between, even though Easter itself is still two weeks away. Disney has even been giving their most basic snacks a makeover specifically for the holiday, making them even more Instagrammable than usual. Today, we’re testing out a basic treat with an Easter look and taking the opportunity to ask — are Disney World’s plain cupcakes worth the cost?
Today we stopped in the Main Street Confectionery to see what was freshly baked, and we spotted some cupcakes we hadn’t tried yet!
We ordered the pastel one for the ‘gram — its official name is the Easter Chocolate Cupcake. For $5.19 (plus tax) we got this pretty straightforward cupcake, nothing too fancy.

On top, we’ve got yellow, blue, and purple frosting with chocolate Mickey ears, pastel sprinkles, and a white chocolate Easter egg. The decorations weren’t over the top and it wasn’t impressively large or filled with anything exciting; it’s just a simple Disney cupcake.
And you know what it tasted like? EXACTLY how we expected it to. The chocolate cake was moist and the frosting was sweet and they made a classic combination that we thoroughly enjoyed. But was it worth it?
If you’re craving a simple cupcake, then we say go for it! However, if you’re looking for a really amazing cupcake, Disney World typically has plenty of options around the parks and resorts that have over-the-top decorations and unique fillings. As far as Disney snacks go, $5 isn’t too bad, but it may still be a little more than you want to pay for something so vanilla (Or, in this case, chocolate 😜). It does make for an adorable pic on Instagram though!
Either way, the choice is up to you. It’s no secret that we’re big fans of Disney cupcakes, no matter whether they’re flashy or simple. 🧁
