After months of anticipation, White Castle finally opened yesterday!
In 2019, the burger chain announced that its first Florida chain in 50 years was opening near Disney World! We’ve been following the construction closely — and we even got a first look inside! And now, we’ve got BIG news about exactly how opening day went.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, White Castle CRUSHED its opening day goals, setting a single-day record for the chain! Vice President Jamie Richardson explained that “our grand opening exceeded our wildest expectations.” After all, it’s not often that you break a record like that.
While the company didn’t release exactly how much they made it sales, they did announce that they exceeded their previous record by over 15%! That record was set by the opening day of White Castle’s location in Scottsdale, Arizona.
As you might expect, the Orlando location was packed on opening day. Cars started lining up the night before, backing up traffic all the way to the nearby Daryl Carter Parkway. People were clearly craving those square burgers!
We’ll be bringing ya a full review of the place soon — but you can check out what we tried when we visited! If you’re hoping to stop by, White Castle is currently open from 9AM-1AM every day. Eventually, those hours will expand so the restaurant is open 24/7.
Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news! We’ll always keep ya in the loop.
