It’s halfway to Christmas, and Disney has released some BIG news about how the parks are celebrating the holidays!
Magic Kingdom will have a new, after-hours event called Disney Very Merriest After Hours, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks are returning, and Disney has announced holiday projections are returning to some of Disney World’s most iconic landmarks!
In Disney’s Magic Kingdom, there will be special holiday projections on Cinderella Castle most nights!
The special holiday projections will alternate with the Castle’s 50th Anniversary projections, but Disney hasn’t said specifically what the schedule will be yet. Disney has said that “Beacons of Magic [the 50th Anniversary nighttime celebrations in each park] will be available nightly at select theme parks.” So we might see two projection shows at some of the parks? Maybe one for the holidays and one for the Anniversary celebrations?
In addition to the projections in Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios will have a holiday show of their own!
The holiday projections on The Hollywood Tower Hotel (the Tower of Terror ride) are coming back to Hollywood Studios! The show, called “Sunset Seasons Greetings” is returning to the park! These holiday-themed projections turns the Hollywood “Holiday” Tower Hotel into scenes from Frozen, a Muppets gingerbread house, a toy hotel from Toy Story, and “a Dickensian village inspired by ‘Mickey’s Christmas Carol.'” Like the show in Magic Kingdom, the holiday projections will alternate with the 50th Anniversary projections on the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
The Tree of Life will also be a “Beacon of Magic.” During the holiday season though, there will be even more magic as the holiday edition of Tree of Life Awakenings takes place!
Disney has released a lot of news about the holidays in the theme parks, so stay tuned with Disney Food Blog to learn all about what’s returning and what’s changing!
