Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
And, we’ve got plenty of updates to share with you! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive right on in!
Animal Kingdom Merchandise Update
Discovery Depot
It looks like Rey and Chewbacca are traveling around the galaxy, since they’ve taken a break from Disney’s Hollywood Studios to head to Disney’s Animal Kingdom instead! The newest limited edition pin, though, is something special with dual-sided characters! On one side, you can find Rey wielding her lightsaber…
…while Chewbacca gets ready to fight off the First Order as part of the Resistance on the other for $19.99!
Animal Kingdom Entertainment Update
Dinosaur
Now, none of this is new! But we thought we’d take you on a little Dinosaur tour! We know you’re probably SUPER excited to hop in your Time Rover to help Dr. Grant Seeker save the Iguanodon from extinction (and hopefully avoid the Carnotaurus along the way). But, Dinosaur has so many other fun features before you even ride the attraction!
The queue for “The Dino Institute” leading to the Time Rover boarding area is set up like a real museum with artifacts, hidden details, and the like!
When you first enter the queue, you can find dinosaur statues guiding you into The Dino Institute…
…including a GIANT T-Rex head! Don’t worry, though — he doesn’t bite! He’s just smiling because he’s happy you’re here.
Once you’re in that awesome A/C, you can read all about various fossils that are on display…
…including replica skulls of dinosaurs that walked the earth long ago.
Of course, you’ll probably want to take some time to read about their extinction too, since you WILL be going back in time during that exact moment!
Speaking of fossils, you’ll find the BIGGEST (and, frankly, the most awesome) one just inside the area before the pre-show rooms. The giant T-Rex skeleton is definitely something you don’t want to miss out on by waiting in the standby line for Dinosaur!
Of course, you can spot so many other hidden details along the way, too. And, we recommend trying to spot as many as you can before you board your Time Rover!
Animal Kingdom Crowd Update
It was a somewhat busy day in Disney’s Animal Kingdom as the sun was shining and guests were excited to head to the park!
A few of the most popular attractions had a flock of people heading towards them, like Dinosaur…
…and Avatar Flight of Passage, whose line extended pretty far back from the ride.
We even saw some higher wait times throughout the day, including 50 minutes at Expedition Everest…
…and 60 minutes at Kali River Rapids! But, you might not want to use the single rider line, because it’s not guaranteed to move any quicker than the standby. Be sure to check how fast either line is moving before deciding which you’re going to wait in!
Well, that’s all for this What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! We’ll catch you next time for more updates. And, if you have any questions about your upcoming Disney vacation, let us know so we can help you find the answers!
