October 1st is a BIG day at Walt Disney World.
October 1st marks the 50th Anniversary for Walt Disney World and a number of experiences will become available on that day. One of the things that will be available for guests to enjoy on October 1st is Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. And today we got a big update about how guests will be able to experience this ride.
Today, during a conference about Disney Genie+, Disney shared that Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will be part of the Individual Attraction Selection offering (where guests can purchase the ability to access a ride’s Lightning Lane — i.e. FastPass Lane — and pay for that access for each individual ride).
But, Disney also noted that Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will utilize a virtual queue!
If you’re planning to visit Disney World for the opening of this attraction, be aware that the virtual queue should be in place. That’s something you’ll just want to plan ahead for.
We expect the virtual queue may be similar to what we’ve seen utilized at rides like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance or WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. But, Disney has not yet shared additional details.
We’ll be on the lookout for more information about just what this virtual queue will involve and we’ll let you know what we find. Stay tuned for all the latest updates!

How tightly can WDW squeeze another dollar. If a park admission is already over $100 per person, how can they justify a “per ride” premium. One of the joys of WDW was the freedom to enjoy spontaneously, once you were in the park. As popularity and demand increased, the “joy” of Disney has been replaced by a competitive sport of planning and strategy as well as finance! So much for Walt’s “family days with my daughters.” We are a 50 year family participant at WDW, and sorry to see the joy being squeezed out.
This ride will be very popular the crowds will be long you will need a virtual queue . The opening day will be something to see to bad it did not open earlier I was there in July . I would of love to go on the ride love the movie .
I’m confused about using the Virtual Queue vs Individual Attraction Selection for it; Can you use both or only one or the other on these select rides? Do you purchase & use IAS only if you don’t get on a boarding group with VQ?
I really hate that once again, Virtual Queue is the only way to experience an attraction. A vacation shouldn’t be contingent on a having a smart phone and having lightning fingers to use it.
Great. Maybe it will be easier than Rise of Resistance. Our July trip we never made it either day!
Where did all the comments go about this that were made last week??
Hi, AD. As you might imagine, I had a lot of comments come through last week. Unfortunately, in all that, I missed these ones. Going through them now. Thanks for your patience and the reminder.
Cindy, Disney has not said if guests will be able to score a Virtual Queue and then also purchase an Individual Attraction Selection. We have it on our radar to find out/report when Disney releases the info.
Compared to the VQ for ROR, in order to access it, they require you to have a HS Park Pass Reservation for that same day, so you can only use it after you’ve tapped into HS first; however, to clarify, since 2 IAS rides can be made on the same day would mean that if only one IAS ride exists per park, then the second one can be made for only those with Hopper Tickets, and thus, no park reservations need to be made for 2nd one, but for only the first one?
Cindy, that seems to be correct. Disney mentioned that the ability to make Individual Attraction Selections and Genie+ selections at multiple Parks per day would help folks make more of their Park Hoppers.
