PHOTOS: EPCOT Had One Thing that Magic Kingdom Didn’t Tonight — Personal Space

We were afraid of what the 50th Anniversary crowds would look like in Disney World today.

Found the crowds!

And we were right to be! EPCOT had its crowded moments, and Magic Kingdom had BIG crowds and even reached capacity at one point today. We arrived in EPCOT tonight, ready to brave those intense Harmonious crowds we saw last time we were here…but something was very different this time around.

EPCOT has certain areas taped off for fireworks viewing, and when we saw the show for the first time these areas were full to capacity.

But tonight they really, really weren’t. What happened? We know the debut of the new Magic Kingdom show Disney Enchantment is happening at the same time and it’s Magic Kingdom’s 50th…but really, we were still shocked to see such low crowds. Especially since this show just debuted 2 days ago!

Um. Where’d everyone go?

On the flip side of this, space for the Disney Enchantment show over in Magic Kingdom has filled up FAST. Let’s just do a quick comparison. Here’s the Magic Kingdom tonight:

So if you weren’t able to get a good viewing spot for Disney Enchantment tonight, come on down to EPCOT! We’ve got plenty of room for you over here! We still have some time before the show starts, so the crowds might fill in a bit more prior to the show. But as of now, there seems to be thinner crowds and much more personal space!

UPDATE: Crowds are definitely starting to fill in at Harmonious now. As it got closer to the show’s start time, more people arrived and started staking out their spots.

More Harmonious Crowds

Since the show started at 9:45PM ET, we guess everyone waited until the last minute to get ready for the show. Now it’s getting pretty crowded towards the entrance to World Showcase.
