We got to check out Luminous: The Symphony of Us for ourselves the night it premiered, and while we loved the impressive pyrotechnics and the symphonic soundtrack, not everyone seems to have the same opinion. We’ve heard folks saying they hate the new EPCOT fireworks show — and here’s why.

December 5th is the day! It’s a huge day for EPCOT because it’s the premiere of Luminous: The Symphony of Us! We’ve been following the news on this new nighttime spectacular all year and now as we’re less than a month away, let’s go over all we know about it!

The changes that took years to complete are almost done, with Disney finishing up touches on World Celebration after the recent opening of Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana. In just a few weeks, the construction walls will come down in the park. But to add to those updates…we’re getting a new fireworks show!
It’s a particularly exciting time for EPCOT fans.

The park is boasting a few all-new experiences as the host for the Disney 100th Anniversary Celebration, and among the fresh, new things in the park, a lot of folks are most excited about the fireworks show that will arrive on December 5th. Luminous: The Symphony of Us will replace the current show — EPCOT Forever — and will feature an original composition to “remind us that we’re more alike than different, connecting our hearts together as one.” Now, though, we’ve gotten even MORE news regarding the new show. We’ve seen lots of new merchandise, decorations in the Disney parks, and so much more already, but there’s also lots more to come. It was previously announced that EPCOT would be getting a new fireworks show for the 100th Anniversary to debut after Harmonious, but we currently have EPCOT Forever as the new show is being prepared. Now we have MORE details about that new show!
When people imagine Disney World fireworks shows, the nightly “Happily Ever After” show in Magic Kingdom is typically what comes to mind first.

However, by limiting yourself to only view the Magic Kingdom fireworks, you’d be missing out on a lot more fun and magic. Fireworks shows at EPCOT take place nightly, and viewers gather around World Showcase Lagoon and World Celebration to watch. A lot of folks prioritize seeing the shows in Magic Kingdom, but don’t necessarily prioritize seeing the EPCOT shows. The reason? Well, a lot of people just don’t realize they even happen — or know specific details regarding the shows!
