As you may know, EPCOT is set to receive an all-new fireworks show celebrating the power of music — Harmonious.

The show was supposed to initially debut in the spring of 2020 but has seen a delay due to the historic park closures. We haven’t heard a new reopening date, but we’ve been keeping a close eye on EPCOT fireworks’ progress. Now, we have a pretty BIG sign that could be a step in the direction of the return of fireworks in EPCOT and the rest of Disney World.
In case you missed it, Epcot’s iconic Illuminations: Reflections of Earth had its last show last night…cue ugly crying here!

But there’s still a fireworks show in Epcot, of course, and we get to share the news! Before IllumiNations’ permanent replacement, HarmonioUS, arrives in 2020, Epcot Forever has debuted as the temporary nighttime spectacular!
Yes, it’s true — the 20 year run of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is coming to an end on September 30th in Disney World.

But starting October 1st, Epcot Forever will take its spot in the World Showcase Lagoon, and hopefully in our hearts, too!
We now have a name and more details about the new nighttime show to replace Epcot Forever…which is replacing IllumiNations for a limited time…after September 30th. (So much coming to Epcot! So much to keep track of!)

After it was announced Illuminations would take its final bow Sept 30th, to be followed temporarily by Epcot Forever, we were eager to hear what the NEXT replacement would be! The new long-term IllumiNations shows that OUR kids will grow up with. Well, we still don’t know much; but we DO know the NAME!

Magic Kingdom’s Happily Ever After Fireworks Spectacular
Many Disney World guests don’t feel as though a Disney day is complete without capping it off with one of the famous Disney World fireworks spectaculars! But did you know that you can watch the fireworks in spots other than Magic Kingdom’s Main Street, U.S.A. or surrounding Epcot’s World Showcase Lagoon? In fact, several restaurants (some even located outside the parks in select Disney World Resorts) around Disney World offer views of the fireworks, so you can relax and enjoy a meal while taking in one of the shows! Starting July 17th, a brand new Fireworks Dessert Party is coming to Epcot. Replacing the IllumiNations Sparkling Dessert Party (its last date is listed for July 14th) will be the Frozen Ever After Sparkling Dessert Party, themed to — of course — the Frozen film and Frozen Ever After attraction in the Norway Pavilion.

Held on select evenings, the experience will begin at World Showcase Plaza East one hour prior to IllumiNations, where guests will enjoy desserts, drinks, and views of Epcot’s nighttime spectacular, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, followed by a ride on the Frozen Ever After attraction.
