One Restaurant Won't Reopen With Disney's Port Orleans Riverside

Today Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside reopened, so we made our way over there to check it out.

Port Orleans Resort — Riverside is a moderate resort located on the Sassagoula River. Although most of the dining options at Riverside have reopened with the resort today, one key dining spot is not set to return for a few more months.

Let’s start with what’s open. The Riverside Mill Food Court is showing operating hours today from 7AM to 11PM (keep in mind operating hours can change). At this spot, you can get a Southern-style breakfast, lunch, or dinner, including dishes like Shrimp & Grits and Jambalaya. It’s a quick-service dining spot, which means you don’t need reservations here.

Outside at Port Orleans Resort — Riverside

The River Roost Lounge will be open later today, from 5PM to 12AM. This lounge has some small plates like Loaded Potato Puffs and Boudin. If you’re coming for a drink, there are also some mocktails, a long list of cocktails, and some other drinks available. And The River Roost Lounge is the spot of the beloved Yehaa Bob Jackson, who will be returning to perform at the resort this evening!

The Muddy Rivers Pool Bar also has reopened and is showing operating hours from 11AM to 9:30PM today. At this bar, you can grab a quick bite (they’ve got sandwiches, salads, and pretzels) as well as a cool drink to enjoy while you lounge by the pool. We’ve tried some of the frozen drinks at this spot and you can read more about that here.

Boatwright’s Dining Hall, known for their dishes inspired by Southern Louisiana cuisine, is not showing any operating hours for today or for several dates we checked in October and dates following that. According to a Cast Member we spoke with today, this spot will not reopen until sometime in December. This hidden gem of a table service restaurant has some delicious dishes like Mardi Gras Fritters, Prime Rib, and more, all of which are served in a unique dining atmosphere resembling a boat construction warehouse.

We’ll be watching out for an official reopening date for Boatwright’s. Keep in mind that while Riverside opened today, Port Orleans Resort– French Quarter will not reopen until October 28th.
