Disney World continues to return to “normal” as many experiences return to the parks.
And today, the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular is BACK after a 21-month hiatus! It’s time to dodge a giant boulder, catch some stunts, and see what Marion and Indy have been up to.
The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular opened in what is now Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 1989, and the show gives you a behind-the-scenes look at film stunts and action scenes inspired by Raiders of the Lost Ark. You get to sit back and watch a talented cast of stunt artists complete exciting (and dangerous!) stunt work, and they also explain HOW they do it!
The show has been changed a bit since Disney World closed in March 2020, now featuring updated dialogue, effects, sequences, and more. The storyline is still the same though! We headed to Hollywood Studios to catch the very first show back on December 19th.

You can see a pretty big line forming
Once they started letting people in, the line moved pretty quickly!

There is a TON of audience seating in here!
It didn’t take long for the seating to fill up, though. The first show started promptly at noon, and we were pretty excited to see the show!

That’s a full house!
As the show started, we got a special welcome announcement. We may or may not have shed a tear of happiness. After the opening remarks, they added a new sequence that allows the audience to meet the cast!

Some of the language has been updated to focus less on “filming” and more on “recording” as a way to connect to younger audience members who like to use devices like phones or tablets to record things.
How’d they do that? 🤔😏 pic.twitter.com/KHVT1M5Tpu

The temple scene is mostly the same, with some changes in dialogue here and there. Don’t worry, though! Indiana Jones still does all your favorite stunts.

Look at that swing!
There was a new funny sequence involving Indy, Marion, and a clothes rack, and plenty of epic jumps, rolls, and acrobatics!

We love a good fight scene!
There were also some changes with the airplane fight scene. As you can see, things got pretty heated (literally!).

Run, Indy, run!
We also heard some new sound effects, but we won’t spoil the sounds for you!

We wouldn’t want to be in that car…
