Every once in a while, something may be missing, closed, or out of place around Disney World. This can happen for a number of reasons, such as scheduled maintenance or unexpected downtime. While we commonly think about major rides closing (like the extended closure we’re seeing right now over at Expedition Everest), you may notice smaller changes too on your vacation!
On a recent trip to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, we noticed something (or rather…someone) wasn’t where they were supposed to be!
We popped into Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities to check out the latest souvenirs, and perhaps discover some rare artifacts like kyber crystals or even legendary lightsabers!
When we stepped inside, however, we noticed something seemed a bit off! Turns out, Dok-Ondar himself was missing!
The spot where you would normally see him was closed off by a red curtain. We saw him hard at work when we visited the parks yesterday, so this is a fairly recent change!
We’ve noticed animatronics go missing temporarily around Galaxy’s Edge in the past. This past summer, Hondo Ohnaka was missing from the queue in Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run for a brief period of time.
That same week, Lieutenant Bek went missing from the end of Rise of the Resistance as well.
The audio-animatronics you’ll come across in Galaxy’s Edge are pretty impressive, so they may need routine maintenance to keep them in tip-top shape! We’ll keep a close watch on this location to see when the animatronic is returned and operating once again. Be sure to follow along for more of the latest updates and news from around Disney World!
