We got a lot of answers ranging from super useful to shockingly clever, so let’s get into it!
Toilet Paper
One reader shared, “My husband insists on bringing his own toilet paper because his butt is just that sensitive.” We have to admire the priorities.

Depending on where you stay, you might find single-ply toilet paper in your Disney World hotel room, so be warned that bringing your own toilet paper from home might need to be added to your packing list!

Bottle of Wine
While you can order a glass of wine in many areas of Disney World, sometimes even just a glass can be fairly pricey. One reader said that they bring “a bottle of wine for end of the day wind down. Wine on property is way more expensive.”

If you’re looking for a cheaper wine option or maybe just a bottle to keep chilled in your room and ready after a long day in Disney World, you can bring your own bottle! But — don’t forget to also bring a wine bottle opener!

Silk Scarves and Binder Clips
If you visit Disney World with young kiddos, you know that strollers can often be a must-have. One reader responded to our question with, “Silk scarves and binder clips. We use them to provide front shade for the kids when they are in the strollers. Clip the scarves to the umbrella part of the stroller and BAM! Full sun protection especially for those little thighs.” 🤯

On a bright and sunny Florida day, it can be easy to get a sunburn, and this genius solution sounds like a great option for young kiddos! Keep them cool AND safe from the sun.

Champagne Stopper
Maybe instead of a bottle of wine, you want to bring a bottle (or two, we won’t judge) of champagne to pop after a long Disney World day. One reader said that they bring “a champagne stopper—although we almost never use it.” The important thing is that you MIGHT need it.

Body Glide
Ah yes, one of the biggest Disney World problems: Chafing. If you get it, you get it. One reader said to bring “Body Glide ((runners get it)).”

You can get anti-chafing balm like Body Glide from Amazon for $9.99, and it’s easy to throw in your Disney Parks bag. Trust us, this is one obscure item you’ll use.

Trash Bags
Another reader told us, “My husband ALWAYS brings trash bags. We’ve never used them and never explains why, he still packs them. One day I’m sure we’ll be glad he did.” Honestly, you never know when you’ll need a trash bag.
Toy Story Land Trash Cans
Since Disney World reopened in July 2020, housekeeping in Disney World hotels has been changed to an every-other day light cleaning service, and you can also decline it entirely. Trash bags might come in handy!

Scissors and Duct Tape
Okay, it’s not what you think. One reader recommended bringing, “Scissors and Duct Tape. It will solve most your Disney travel related issues. Like closing your suitcase after a visit to Magic Kingdom’s Emporium. Just duct tape it closed.” No overpacking worries with these items!
Luggage!
You might need scissors to cut the packaging off of new souvenirs so they fit better in your suitcase, and if you went a little overboard on the souvenirs that duct tape would be useful to keep your suitcase shut! Just make sure you pack these items in your checked luggage.

We always bring chip clips / bag clips, but not for chips! You know that annoying crack between the curtains where the light shines through and, inevitably, right in your face while you’re trying to sleep? No matter what you do, there always seems to be a gap somewhere. We use the clips to hold together the curtains so there is no crack of doom! On the same note, Amazon sells paper blackout shades that tape (self adhesive, no need to bring tape) to the top of the window/frame and can be pulled down behind the curtains. These have been a lifesaver on many beach trips, staying in homes without curtains, but work great at Disney too! They are paper, so they fold easily and take up very little suitcase space! Can you tell our son is at an age where we stress about lack of sleep on vacay!? Ha!!
as DVC, we Geta one bedroom with a full size kitchen. We bring our leftovers home from some sit down dinners as some of us can’t finish a whole meal. We bring a stoneware pizza stone for crispier reheating. And a Keurig. yes we get 2 gallons of water from Walmart too. and it makes the quickest hot oatmeal too.
But i think my best decision was to convert to a clear plastic backpack. security can see in without opening it all up and I get through much quicker. It isn’t like i’m trying to hide anything. If I were it would be hidden in DH’s backpack. LOL
