As much as we love Disney World, we’d be lying if we said there wasn’t at least one thing we wouldn’t mind seeing removed from the parks.
You might like to see a certain ride removed, or maybe a restaurant, or you might want to see policies changed. We asked our readers (that’s YOU!) what you’d like to see gone from Disney World. Here’s what you said!
We reached out to our readers on our Facebook page (go ahead and give us a like if you want to share your thoughts in the future!) and asked, “If You Could Remove One Thing From Disney World, What Would It Be?”
High Prices
It’s no secret that prices have been on the rise in Disney World, alongside the discontinuation of previously free perks like the Magical Express. One reader said they’d remove “the high prices to get in,” while another reader voted to remove “the ridiculous cost of parking.” At this time, a base ticket for Disney World begins at $109, and theme park parking costs $25 per day.
Holiday after hours parties have risen in price but delivered less, and now that FastPasses have been discontinued you have to pay to skip the standby line. Also gone are free perks like complimentary MagicBands for hotel guests and Annual Passholders, while additional prices continue to add up. One reader said they’d like to remove “exponentially rising costs for lower expectations. I get that it’s a business and they have expenses but it’s getting harder to justify the cost versus the benefit, which is killing the magic.”
How much have prices gone up since Disney World first opened?
Crowds
When it comes to crowds, one reader commented, “They let too many people into the park. It’s not enjoyable anymore.” While capacity has been affected by the park reservation system, lately crowds have increased quite a bit for the holidays in particular. Another reader said they’d remove “half the capacity. It’s too many people almost everyday. I want parks that aren’t so crowded.”
“All the other guests” was another common response, and one reader went as far as to say “I would pay 200 [dollars] a day for no crowds.”

Genie+
Genie+ was a frequent mention among our readers as something they’d like to remove. Genie+ is the new paid system that replaced FastPasses. And while FastPasses were free, Genie+ costs $15 per person, per day to skip the standby lanes of over 40 rides in Disney World. One reader commented, “I would remove the Genie+ and put back the FastPass.”
Some of our readers were ready to say goodbye to the Genie+ forever. One reader said Genie+ was the “worst thing ever,” and another reader answered our question with, “Easy. The paid fast pass system. Or fast passes all together. It was nice for a couple years with just standby lines. The lines moved quicker.“

Park Reservations
The Disney World Park Reservation system rolled out when Disney World reopened in July 2020, and it was a way to prevent parks from getting too crowded during the global pandemic. And though many things have returned to “normal” in Disney World, the park pass system seems to be here to stay for now. One reader said they’d remove “the current reservation system. I miss just being able to go at any moment.” It’s harder to plan those spontaneous trips when park passes sell out occasionally.
Another reader noted that they’d remove the “Park Entry Reservation system and the park hopping restrictions along with it.” Right now Park Hopping is only allowed after 2PM, limiting the options for many guests visiting Disney World.

Planning Challenges
Along with park reservations, Disney Genie, advance dining reservations, and more, planning a Disney World trip can feel really complicated. One reader said they’d change “how complicated it’s [Disney World] getting,” and another reader added that “the scheduling before hand it makes for such a stressful time.” One reader noted that “planning our next trip feels like Advanced Calculus!”
Another reader said that there’s “too much depending on your phone,” and several more readers commented on removing the necessity to bring your phone to Disney World, which you generally need in order to access many features, including the My Disney Experience app, Mobile Order, Mobile Shopping, Genie+, and more.

Tomorrowland Speedway
Tomorrowland Speedway has been a Magic Kingdom attraction since 1971, and many readers noted that they’d remove this original ride. One reader said Speedway is “loud, smells, boring, and takes up so much space.” Ouch. Another reader said, “Tomorrowland Speedway. Nothing tomorrow about it. And the fumes coming from the speedway are noxious.”
Tomorrowland Speedway is an enclosed track where guests can steer their cars and read speeds of up to 6 miles per hour. And it does tend to have a certain…ahem…smell, so it’s not too shocking that some of our readers have Tomorrowland Speedway on their list of things to go.

Turkey Legs
And Turkey Legs were a common vote for removal! While they are an iconic Disney World snack, one reader said, “Smoked turkey legs! Come on people, they really aren’t good at all.” Another reader agreed, adding that “the smell makes me feel sick.”
