We’ve been eating a LOT of food at Disney World recently. And we mean a LOOOOOT.
We tried a bunch of space food onboard the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, worked our way around the “world” at the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival, and sampled several new snacks in Hollywood Studios for the spring! But we’re not done yet — today we spotted an entree in Magic Kingdom that we hadn’t tried before.
Over at Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland, we’ve seen some savory options for lunch before (remember the sandwiches that were “roughly the size of a barge?”), but now there’s a new kid on the block…the Ham, Provolone, and Swiss Sandwich!
You can pick up this item for $10.99, and all in all, it’s a pretty straightforward meal. It’s made with ham and provolone on a pretzel bun with plain mayo, and the bun is topped with toasted swiss. (Which, let’s be honest here, is not the most appetizing-looking way to put cheese on a sandwich. 🤨)
Even though the melted cheese looks a little bit like solidified grease, this is a really reliable option. If you’ve got a picky eater in your family or a friend who’s just looking for something basic for lunch, consider this meal! It comes with a bag of potato chips, so it almost feels like you’re eating a lunch that your mom packed for you! Mom…did you have anything to do with this Disney meal?! (P.S. Where are our Oreos and juice box?!)
It was easy to eat, and the ham was a great combination of smoky and sweet. The pretzel bread was incredibly soft, not hard or crusty like you sometimes get with these types of buns. In general, it’s a crowd-pleaser.
Keep in mind that the sign didn’t note that the sandwich has mayo, so that may be a shock for those who don’t like the condiment. They weren’t made-to-order, so your ability to customize it may be limited.

An interesting addition to the menu, but a very small sandwich for $11.

A little sandwich for $11 is a great way to reduce your waistline. Thanks Disney!
