It’s time! We’re at the first night of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and we’re ready to EAT.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a special after-hours event held in Magic Kingdom on select evenings in November and December from 7PM to midnight, and in addition to all the festive entertainment, there are also some exclusive treats available. We’re stopping by a classic ice cream spot for two new eats!
Available exclusively at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are two NEW sweet treats from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor! We’re starting with the Peppermint Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae, made with peppermint ice cream, hot fudge, and candy cane pieces served on a brownie for $8.29.
This was a tasty brownie sundae! The peppermint ice cream was pretty much the same as the one we had over at Sleepy Hollow earlier this night — sweet and not too minty. We really enjoyed it! The brownie was heavy on the fudge in a good way and there was also a lot of hot fudge on top of it! Do beware though that this treat melts very quickly, so eat it fast!
It’s also very sweet, so if you don’t have a sweet tooth and love chocolate and peppermint, this isn’t for you. But if you do like those flavors, you should really enjoy this!
Next up is the Candy Cane Hot Cocoa, made with hot chocolate with peppermint ice cream, whipped cream, and candy cane pieces for $7.99.
This hot cocoa was awesome! Our reporter said it was maybe her favorite thing she had the whole night. This is just a very classic well-made hot chocolate with sweet peppermint ice cream and little pieces of candy cane.
The Mickey marshmallow on top is absolutely adorable and makes this treat even more special! And, this marshmallow is pretty good — it’s a lot better than the marshmallow pops you find around Disney World. And, obviously, it works really well with the hot chocolate.
However, even though we loved this, we don’t know if we would recommend buying it. The thing is, you already get complimentary hot chocolate at the party and you can have as much as you want. It’s not peppermint flavored, but we’re not sure if the added stuff on this hot chocolate is worth the price when there’s a free option right there.
Also, if you don’t drink this hot chocolate fast, you end up with melted lukewarm ice cream and cold hot chocolate because the temperatures are competing with each other. So, it’s not a perfect treat, but it is definitely tasty if you enjoy these flavors. Unless you’re a big fan of peppermint in your hot chocolate, we’d probably say you should just stick with the free ones you get at the party!
We’re taking you with us as we explore Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party return to Magic Kingdom, so keep following along. Keep following along with us for more party-exclusive treat reviews!
