It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and you know what that means…
…it’s time for holiday decorations, treats, and more! Many of the Disney World hotels have gingerbread displays available for visitors to see and buy treats from, and we’re happy to report Disney’s Contemporary Resort’s gingerbread castle has officially returned and is open for business!
The 2022 gingerbread castle display at Disney’s Contemporary Resort has NEW decorations to celebrate Disney World’s 50th anniversary! You can find the display in the hotel’s lobby.
We haven’t seen this hotel’s gingerbread castle since 2019, so we’re thrilled to have it back. Here’s a look at the castle from 2019 so that you can see how it’s different this year.
This year’s castle has gold and blue decorations, along with the 50th logo against an EARidescent background (just like the one on the real Cinderella Castle!).
In the Hub at Magic Kingdom, you can find gold statues of iconic Disney characters, and 2 of those statues are represented here as well — Mickey and Minnie, of course!
Some of the “it’s a small world” decor is still included, as this castle was inspired by Disney legend Mary Blair.
Want to know how it’s made? Here’s a look at the ingredients, including 111 pounds of gingerbread spice, 51 pounds of chocolate, 511 eggs, and over 4,000 castle gingerbread bricks.
Chip and Dale were there in their 50th anniversary outfits as well!
Not only can you admire and take photos with this impressive display, but you can also buy matching-themed treats from a pop-up shop right by the display. You can grab frozen holiday drinks, hot cocoa bombs, a 50th Anniversary Gingerbread Castle Brick, and so much more. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB, because we’ll be giving you reviews on some of the treats we try!
