Okay, Disney fans, we know we’ve all had our magical moments, our embarrassing moments, and our funny moments in the Disney Parks.
So we decided to ask YOU, our DFB readers, about your most magical moments in the parks, and you did not disappoint — here are just some of the stories you told us! Enjoy!
Our reader Tim couldn’t just pick one, though, and proceeded to tell us about many magical moments that have happened for every one of his family’s Disney Parks trip. Tim wrote:
“Yes, every trip. From the Maintenance Employee who stopped sweeping, bowed, and addressed my 8-year old dressed as a princess as “Your Majesty”, the Room Cleaning staff that make towel animals each evening, to the Wait Staff that gather recipes for our favorite recipes at Jikos, the employees make each trip outstanding. As much as I complain about the scaled back product being offered (lack or airport transport, no meal plan, no free Fastpass for Disney hotel guests) the staff do an absolute amazing job each time we are there. A tough job to do in an ever changing environment.”
We couldn’t agree more — Cast Members are always part of the magic!
DFB reader @anneonice had a funny Mickey story to share: “Several years ago at Tusker House, Mickey ‘stole’ my phone and took photos of everyone.”
Oh, Mickey, you silly mouse!
Angela had a special birthday story to share: “I celebrated my birthday this past September in MK. We were on Jungle Cruise (my favorite!) and while the boats were backed up going back to the dock the Skipper had everyone sing Happy Birthday to me!”
Now that’s what we call a birthday surprise!
Our reader, @em_arceo reminded us that sometimes it’s just the little things that can take something bad and turn it into something good. ” I sat my bag in a spilled drink on Star Tours. While I cleaned up, A CM let my kids ride again.”
Susan shared a particularly poignant moment (okay, this one made us cry): “Our first trip, we were in the hat shop on main as our son was picking out his first ears. I started sobbing as it all hit me (infertility that had us wondering if we would ever have a Disney family trip) Cast member asked if I was okay, I explained the situation. Cast member asked for our camera to capture us trying on ears then gifted our son his first ears with his name. I cried harder…..”
DFB reader @marinda_30 said, “I feel the magic every time Tinker Bell flies during the MK fireworks.”
Um…HARD SAME. That really is one of the most beautiful things you can see in Disney World!
Even adults get treated like princes and princesses in Disney Parks.
Teresa said, “Yes! My Mother’s first (only) trip at the age of 62. Upon entering Magic Kingdom that 1st morning, the Dapper Dans noticed her and started talking with her and said “You don’t want to waste your time here; let’s get you to the Main Attraction.” They whisked her away on the trolley right to the castle, singing to her the whole way! They treated her so special. She was beaming. That is the “Magic” of Disney.”
Our reader @_officialariana1_ had a truly amazing experience: “Pulling the sword out of the stone on my 18th birthday.” So it DOES come out! That must’ve been an incredible feeling!
Madison told a story about when a stroller got stolen in the park, but Disney Cast Members made everything okay: “When I was 5, it was our first trip to Disney as a family! We went into the Land Pavilion and when we got out OUR STROLLER HAD BEEN STOLEN! It was SO crazy! All of our souvenirs were gone. My mom was freaking out. Luckily 2 CM saw and helped us. One took me over to a ice cream cart where I got my first mickey ice cream bar, while the other called my mom down and radioed other CM’s who were able to replace our stroller and all of our souvenirs and if they didn’t have that souvenir in the park they gave us a disney gift card to cover the costs. It was CRAZY! We’ve had many other magical moments but this was always the one that stuck out to me the most!”
One of our readers, @sharon_whalen, spent time at Disney World during Hurricane Ian, but still managed to have a favorite moment from that trip: “Playing games and trivia during Hurricane Ian with Goofy & Pooh at Beach Club.”
This is why so many of us continue to return to Disney Parks and take Disney cruises — even a bad day can and often does become a good day thanks to the magic made by Disney and its Cast Members.
