Disney World may be an exciting vacation option, but it’s certainly not a relaxing one! If you’re looking for a place to vacation with chill vibes but also a touch of Disney magic, there’s one place we have in mind…
…Aulani — A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii! This Disney Vacation Club property is open to any Disney fan who’s looking for that island paradise getaway. There are some amazing restaurants, stunning views, and of course, relaxing amenities.
Our friend Heather Sievers (@diningindisney on Instagram) recently made a trip to Aulani and shared her experience with us. As part of the trip, she got to check out the poolside cabana rentals, and we’re showing you what it was like!
First of all, the eight cabanas are spread throughout three different areas: Menehune Bridge, Wailana Pool, and Ka Maka Grotto Pool. You’ll need to reserve one in advance, and location requests can be made but are not guaranteed.
The cabanas accommodate up to 6 guests, and at the time of publishing, the rental price is $450 per day.
The inside of the cabana is stocked with amenities, including a TV, a ceiling fan, a small refrigerator, a couch, a coffee table, and two lounge chairs in front of the cabana itself.
One of the perks of renting a cabana is getting on-demand food service. We were given a pager with different buttons to call employees over in case we wanted to order food, beverages, or towels.
Having a concierge-like service can be very handy! We put in a request for towels.
The cabana was also equipped with a large charging block for electronic devices. Ours had spaces for regular wall plugs, as well as multiple USB outlets.
If you forgot your sunscreen — don’t worry! There was a complimentary pump bottle in the cabana as well. That comes in handy when you’re out chilling in the lounge chairs.
Our cabana was stocked with a few snacks and drinks when we arrived. There was a bowl of individually-bagged potato chips…
…a STUNNING complimentary fruit platter…
…and a plate filled with different miniature desserts. How cute are those Mickeys?!
The fridge was stocked up with some bottled water, but there was plenty of room to store additional food or snacks if you wanted to bring your own.
We also used the pager to order a meal partway through the day. They’ll deliver it (and the bill) directly to your cabana. One meal was an order of chicken wings with celery, carrots, and a side of ranch dressing.
The other meal we purchased seemed to be a much better deal. With this one, we got chicken strips, fries, and a variety of dipping sauces, including honey mustard, barbecue, ranch, and ketchup. These chicken fingers were SERIOUSLY delicious, y’all.
So concierge service, complimentary snacks, and a place to relax and unwind near the pools — is it worth it? Ultimately, that’s up to you and whether or not you can stomach the hefty price tag. If you’re splitting the cost with multiple people, it might be a little easier, but we ultimately really enjoyed the experience.
