A new year means NEW changes and updates in Disney World!
From restaurants to attractions to resort renovations, there are plenty of construction projects happening all around the Most Magical Place on Earth — and we’re keeping up with them all. Let’s take a look at the biggest construction updates from Disney World this week!
Magic Kingdom
TRON: Lightcycle Run
Now that the Walt Disney World Railroad has reopened, we can get some better views of TRON from the tunnel and more. Here we can see what the tunnel looks like when you’re coming through it and looking back at the canopy.
As we get closer to the opening date of TRON — spring 2023 for now — hopefully we’ll start to see even more exciting updates. Be sure to stay tuned for the latest and when we hear about an official opening date!

EPCOT
CommuniCore Hall & Plaza
We’re seeing some serious progress over at CommuniCore Hall! In additional to building up, workers have also been building out. This new structure will be home to all things EPCOT festivals, and it’s looking even bigger from this angle.
Disney has shared that we can expect this spot to be completed by late 2023, so stay tuned for more updates.

Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana
Disney’s new Moana-themed attraction is slated to open in late 2023, and we’ve been keeping a close eye on the construction progress from the monorail where we can. But, we got to see some sneak peeks from an episode of Good Morning America, and you can see a close up view of one of the rock structures here.
Plus, check out how absolutely beautiful Te Fiti looks!
We’ll continue to keep you updated with the latest news on Journey of Water.

Hollywood Studios
Roundup Rodeo BBQ
More and more fun elements have been added to the entrance of Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Hollywood Studios. Last week, we saw this pencil move in along with a few checkered flags.Â
This new table service spot will serve up homestyle barbecue meats, sides, plus desserts and a whole lot of fun!

Disney Resort Hotels
BoardWalk Inn and Villas
There’s a new coffee shop in Disney World! Carousel Coffee has opened in the lobby of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Villas. We were there on opening day to get a first look and try some of the new eats and drinks. This spot is just steps away from EPCOT, so consider checking it out on your next trip!
There isn’t much theming to this new shop, and it’s supposed to be part of the ongoing BoardWalk renovations, so we’ll see what ends up happening with the rest of those updates.

Polynesian Resort
We’re finally starting to see some movement over at the Polynesian Village Resort! A crane and more large equipment has been moved into the construction zone. This area will eventually be home to a new DVC tower with dining options, merch locations, and more.Â
