If you love Disney movies it’s time to get EXCITED!
Various new Disney movies are coming out soon or are already in the works at Disney including a live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, a Peter Pan and Wendy film for Disney+, and a new animated movie called Wish. But now we’ve got even more MASSIVE Disney movie news!
During the earnings call for the first quarter of fiscal year 2023 for the Walt Disney Company, we got a number of updates about Disney+ subscriber numbers, the Company’s financial standing overall, increases in guest spending in the parks, upcoming layoffs, and MORE.
But Disney CEO Bob Iger also surprised fans with big news about new Disney movies that are in the works.
Iger emphasized various times during the call that Disney is taking a close look at its core brands and really focusing on “curating the Disney and the Pixar and the Marvel and the Star Wars of it all.”
He also announced that sequels are currently in the works at Disney for Toy Story, Zootopia, and Frozen. WHAT?! It’s TRUE!
So if you thought the Toy Story fun was over, you were MISTAKEN (apparently!). Considering the fact that Disney has also teased that Zootopia could take over part of DinoLand U.S.A., this is interesting news indeed. Could it be a signal that a Zootopia retheme is more likely? We’ll have to wait and see!
Not much was shared about these sequels, what forms they would take, or where they would be distributed (Disney+ or theaters), but we’ll keep an eye out for more news. Stay tuned for all the details!

Tricia says
No more Toy Story. They ruined it with the 4th movie!
Donald Purney says
More sequels? Good grief, has Disney lost its imagination? Bring back Michael Eisner. He had fresh ideas.
Ray says
How about something new!
Richard Mercer says
Toy Story series was great, but I’m skeptical of a #5. If the plot and music are good, it may be OK. But another Frozen would just be a mistake. I enjoyed the first two, but it’s time to “Let It Go”. Sorry I had to say that, but they deserved it!
