TRON Lightcycle / Run has been in the works at Disney World for literal years, but we’re FINALLY getting close to the coaster’s grand opening!
TRON will officially open in Magic Kingdom on April 4th, 2023, and select park passes have already started to sell out as people get ready for the ride. But, some people don’t even have to wait that long to get on TRON, because there are previews available for people like Cast Members and Annual Passholders! And now, we finally know more details about how Annual Passholders can get on TRON early.
Disney recently sent an email to Annual Passholders and posted a notice under the Passholder Buzz section of the My Disney Experience app about TRON previews. According to both messages, Passholders should be on the lookout for an email to be sent to them on February 16th with details about how to make their TRON preview registrations!
Registrations for the AP previews will OPEN on February 16th, so you’ll really want to be on the lookout for that registration email from Disney.
But before you register, there are some rules you should know about. First, you’ll be able to “register yourself and up to 5 other Annual Passholders from your Family & Friends list within your My Disney Experience account who have opted to share “All My Plans” with you (subject to availability).” So there are a few key things to take away from that sentence. One, you’ll be able to register for yourself and up to 5 other people. But ALL of the other people you register for must be Annual Passholders. And you’ll only be able to register for friends/family members that are linked with you via the Friends & Family list on the My Disney Experience app.
PLUS you’ll need to make sure that they’ve all selected to share “All My Plans” with you via the App. Be sure to check the My Disney Experience app ahead of the 16th so you can verify that everyone you want to sign up for has properly linked their passes, linked with your account, and allowed for the proper level of plan sharing.
Additionally, each person in your party will be required to have a VALID and activated Annual Pass for Disney World. Though Disney hasn’t revealed the dates on which the preview will take place, Annual Passholder blockout dates WILL apply so keep that in mind when making your registration.
Also, note that only 1 reservation per Passholder is allowed, and space is limited so you’ll want to act quickly.
As we noted above, remember that Cast Member previews are also available for TRON. Those are going on now and last through March 3rd. And Disney Vacation Club previews are also set to take place for TRON.
We actually got the chance to hop on the ride and experience it for ourselves. To see our FULL thoughts, see the posts below:

I still haven’t gotten my e-mail 🙁
