We’ll be honest. Dressing up as a Disney Princess and meeting fan-favorite royal characters along a race course does make running miles and miles sound a lot more appealing.
The runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend at Disney World is an excellent opportunity to do just that — you can dress up as your favorite Disney characters while participating in a series of Princess-themed races: a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and the Disney Fairy Tale Challenge, where you can run all three! Plus, there’s even a chance to participate in Sunrise Yoga in front of Cinderella Castle. This year’s themes excited many runDisney fans when they were first announced, and the race registration process this morning was all the proof we needed for how excited runners were about this race!
Princess Half Marathon Weekend registration opened at 10AM EST on June 20th, and all the races other than the Half Marathon were sold out before noon! Even the Sunrise Yoga event sold out.
UPDATE: As of 4:45PM EST on Tuesday, June 20th, ALL of the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend 2024 in-person events are SOLD OUT. If you want to participate, you can still sign up for the virtual races later this month.
If you’re hoping to participate in the race weekend, you’ll likely want to hurry — we don’t expect the open slots to last much longer for the Half Marathon.
If you’re not too interested in running 13.1 miles, you can always sign up for the themed virtual races. These races are themed the same and take place at the same time, but you can run them from anywhere as long as you have a way to log your miles. You’ll receive a shirt and a finisher medal, too! Registration for the virtual events begins Friday, June 23rd at 10AM EST on the runDisney website.
Well, what do you think? Will you be snagging a spot while you still can?! We’ll be sure to keep you updated with any and all Disney news and updates, so make sure to follow along and stay tuned for more.
