There are some Disney World snacks that go down in history as our all-time favorites.
Cheeseburger spring rolls. Dole Whip. ‘Ohana noodles. These snacks are practically Disney World icons and MUST be eaten at every possible opportunity. But every once in a while, Disney (sadly) takes away one of our beloved snacks. That happened to one of the best treats from Disney’s Animal Kingdom…however, we may have found a solution!
If you’ve been going to Disney World for five years or more, or you’ve been a longtime watcher of DFB, then you’ve probably heard AJ talk about the beloved Pulled Pork Cheese Fries that used to live at Flame Tree Barbecue. Like the name suggests, they were loaded with pulled pork and cheese and general deliciousness. They are very addicting, and we all miss them dearly. (A moment of silence, if you please.)
Now, I’ve been thinking about these fries a lot lately and wondering if there was a way that we could re-create them with a Disney World snack hack. Sadly, even though you could get fries and pulled pork at Flame Tree Barbecue, there was no cheese sauce (or, as we call it here at DFB, plastic cheese) to be found. And don’t try and convince us to use the pre-packaged stuff that comes with Mickey pretzels because it is NOT the same.
Alas, we thought we were out of luck…UNTIL a big surprise arrived at Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom — the new Chipotle Barbecue Loaded Fries. They come topped with pulled pork, slaw, and chipotle barbecue sauce for $7.49. And at Casey’s Corner, it’s easy to add a side of plastic cheese for just $1!
I placed my order through the My Disney Experience app and picked up the food, ready to DIY the snack and be reunited with cheesy, pork-covered potato goodness. I simply poured the cheese sauce over the fries, and VOILA, a beautiful snack hack was born.
So did they live up to the hype? The pork was delicious and a little smoky, the fries were nice and crispy, and the cheese sauce complimented it all very well. The only thing I might change is that those fries come topped with coleslaw, which can be a tad strange when mixed with the other flavors. In the end, I didn’t really mind it too much, but to get them without coleslaw, I think you’d need to order at the counter instead of a Mobile Order.
I actually REALLY liked this snack overall, and I would totally order it again! It can be messy, and there are a lot of toppings, so I suggest prepping yourself with a fork and some napkins. All in all, these aren’t exactly the same as the old fries from Flame Tree, but they made my potato-loving heart very happy.

Yay! I’m so excited for those. I hope they are here to stay for a while because I loved the pulled pork fries from Flame tree and haven’t been to the parks since 2010, but still remember them!
