News like this could hit hard with the summer heat, and we hate to be the bearer of bad news.

EPCOT
Amid all the changes that are currently happening at EPCOT with preparations for EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival and new signage unveiled at Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya in Japan, we didn’t know if we could take more change coming our way, but it’s happened and seemingly overnight.
It wasn’t but just a few short weeks ago that the newly revamped Refreshment Station reopened its counter to visitors, serving delicious slushy concoctions with various toppings and flavors. It’s an ideal place to make a snack that can help stave off the Florida heat for a bit while you sit and enjoy the delicious treats.

Refreshment Station
However, on a recent visit, we were confused because Refreshment Station now looks like a ghost town. The cash registers have been closed with signs and food cards taken up. The counter where the toppings are usually held and final products ushered across are now picked clean with nothing left in them.

Refreshment Station is empty
This is pretty unusual for such a new reopening of a snack kiosk, but a quick check of the Disney World website also notes there are no operational hours posted for the next few days.

No posted hours
In fact, the earliest we could find new operational hours for this snack stand is July 27th, 2023. While we know it’s closed for now, there’s no official word or why or what may have led to cause the closure. Since July 27th is the start of the Food & Wine Festival, it’s possible that this spot will reopen with some new festival offerings on that day, and Cast Members are just preparing for the big event!

Next posted hours
This is similar to the Refreshment Port snack stand by the entrance of the World Showcase that mysteriously shut down seemingly without notice. When we noticed it, we checked with a few Cast Members who were equally confused as some didn’t even know it was closed, let alone why it would have been. Again, this spot will reopen on the 27th, so it’s very likely that the closure is in preparation for the Food & Wine Festival.

Refreshment Port is closed
