Churros — you’ll find them all over the Disney parks and sometimes with unique toppings or flavor combinations!
And while many will argue that the Disneyland churros are FAR superior to those at Disney World, the Most Magical Place on Earth does still sometimes get fun churros or churro-themed creations. That’s just what we experienced when we picked up 2 seasonal snacks in Disney World, but we’ve got one big issue we still need to talk about when it comes to churro treats in Disney World.
Okay, so here’s the good news — if you absolutely LOVE churros, you can pick up the returning Churro Cupcake ($5.49)…
…and Churro Cookie ($5.99) at Big Top Treats in Magic Kingdom right now!
Note that these treats are NOT new to Disney World. We actually saw them in Animal Kingdom back in 2021 and we’ve seen some of them pop up at Disney World confectionary cases since then. But we were excited to see that they were available right now in Disney World. If you’ve been on the hunt for them, now’s the time to snatch them up.
Let’s start with the Churro Cupcake. This is made of a cinnamon cupcake with cinnamon and vanilla icing, cinnamon sugar crumbles, and chocolate Mickey ears. This is just slightly different from what we had in 2021, but mostly similar.
In 2021, we felt like the cinnamon flavor was very prominent and it gave us cinnamon roll vibes as opposed to churro vibes. Plus, the cupcake was a little dry.
We’re happy to say that things seem to have IMPROVED since then! The cupcake was SUPER moist this time around and it had a delicious churro flavor.
The cinnamon cake was sweet but not overwhelming so, and the icing was soft. We especially loved the cinnamon crumbles on the top because they added a fun texture. To us, this truly tasted like a churro in cupcake form. That’s a big win!
One note though, it is a little cinnamon-heavy (as you might expect), so just make sure you really love cinnamon before picking this up.
While at Big Top Treats, we also grabbed the Churro Cookie (how could you not?!). This is a sugar cookie with cinnamon-sugar icing. In 2021, we found the cookie to have a close texture but it was still light and airy (and soft and chewy). Plus, it was the least sweet of the churro snacks we tried that day.
This year, we found the icing and sugar on top of the cookie to be especially wonderful! The icing was soft and creamy and, combined with the sugar, it provided a lovely, light cinnamon flavor. We also liked how the sugar crystal sprinkles added a nice textural difference, introducing a nice crunch.
Unfortunately, the cookie was a tad on the dry side though, so that’s just something to keep in mind.
Should you skip a regular churro to grab these? Well, that depends on your tastes. If you want that more pure churro flavor, then a regular churro might be the way to go. But if you’re a fan of cupcakes or cookies and want to change up your churro routine, these could be fun to try.
But wait…there’s more! If you’re looking for more fun treats in Disney World, while at Big Top Treats you can also pick up a Churro Caramel Apple…
…Halloween-themed Rice Krispie treats…
…and Pumpkin Spice Cupcake, among other goodies.
So, basically, your sweet tooth will NOT go unsatisfied while here! BUT we have one big complaint…WHY IS THERE STILL NO CHURRO TOFFEE IN DISNEY WORLD?! For those not familiar with it, Churro Toffee is a delicious treat you can get in Disneyland that combines the cinnamon sugar goodness of a churro with Disneyland toffee and yes, it is MAGICAL. It has even been dressed up for the holiday season sometimes with flavors like pumpkin spice.
This is some fan-favorite stuff. So WHYYYYYYY can’t we have it at Disney World?! Please? Pretty please with a cherry on top?
