Can you believe we’re getting a Coco restaurant on Disney’s newest cruise ship?
Disney Cruise Line‘s newest ship, the Disney Treasure, will set sail in the summer of 2024, and Disney recently announced that we’d be getting a Coco-themed restaurant on board WITH characters! Here’s everything we know about this new restaurant.
The new restaurant will be called Plaza de Coco, and in the concept art, you can see Miguel playing his guitar on stage, meaning characters will be involved in this new restaurant.
Disney has confirmed there will be musical performances by a Mariachi band while you dine, making this spot the FIRST theatrical dining experience themed to Coco anywhere on Disney property. The venue/dining area is described as a theater-in-the-round entertainment space with dining tables surrounding a central stage with performances and show effects that will spread throughout the room. So don’t worry if you’re not sitting right near the stage!
At Plaza de Coco, passengers can take in two DIFFERENT nights of unique dining experiences — Disney says on the first night “the story of Miguel and his familia will continue where it left off on screen as they gather in Mariachi Plaza to take guests on a colorful, music-filled journey that celebrates family memories and togetherness.” The second night Disney says “Miguel will reunite with his great-great grandparents, Hector and Mama Imelda, by transporting them to Santa Cecilia with the help of his magic guitar for a Día de los Muertos celebration.”
We don’t have the menu just yet, but Disney has told us that both nights will feature a dinner menu with “modern twists on traditional Mexican fare.” We also got a peek at the Cast Member costumes we can expect to see during our media event!
