It’s October, and despite our excitement for Halloween, we have to admit that we’re counting down the days until we can officially start decorating and celebrating the holiday season.
It’s never too early to prep for the holidays, as they often require some extra budgeting, planning, and coordinating so that everyone can take in the sights of all the curated decor, unwrap the gifts that were on their wishlists on Christmas morning, and indulge in the BEST flavors of the season. Disney World is already prepping for the holidays, and the company has even announced some of the ways we can celebrate in the parks this winter. Today, we’re talking FOOD, and we’re headed to EPCOT!
EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays kicks off on November 24th and will conclude on December 30th — which means you have a little over a month to try out each of the 17 Holiday Kitchens that will be available throughout World Showcase. If you love eating and drinking around the world, and are looking forward to doing so this holiday season, then this is the post for you!
While Disney has announced the Holiday Kitchens that would be part of this year’s lineup, they didn’t announce the menus just yet. However, they did give us a few clues. 🕵️♀️ Let’s talk about it!
You might be able to grab your festive turkey dinner while strolling around the world.
So, Disney hasn’t confirmed this but they DID share a photo of what looks like turkey and dressing and they DID say that you’ll be able to celebrate “with traditional dishes reminiscent of grandma’s cooking” over at the American Holiday Table.
Nothing says “grandma’s cooking” at Christmastime like juicy turkey and dressing dripping with gravy and accompanied by some mashed potatoes. This is one of our FAVORITE holiday dishes in EPCOT, so we’re really hoping it returns.
The Disney100 booths could get new, holiday-inspired menus.
Halfway through this year’s Food and Wine Festival, Disney debuted some new booths for the 100th Anniversary Celebration: Char and Chop, Bubbles and Brine, Swirled Showcase, and Wine and Wedge. Disney then shared that the booths would stick around throughout Festival of the Holidays.
We’ve been wondering whether or not the booths would get new menus or seasonal menu items for the holidays, and Disney did include them on the list of Holiday Kitchens. However, Char and Chop is the only booth that mentions the word “holiday” at all in its description. So, we’ll just have to see what happens when the menus come out!
You might be able to drink around the world with holiday flair!
Of course, a lot of folks are hoping to get their hands on some seasonal sweet treats and traditional Christmastime eats from the countries represented in World Showcase. However, a few booths mention some holiday-inspired cocktails and sips that you could grab as well!
Bavaria Holiday Kitchen, Bubbles and Brine, Holiday Hearth Desserts, Holiday Sweets and Treats, Le Marche de Noel Holiday Kitchen, Shi Wasu Holiday Kitchen, Swirled Showcase, Tangierine Cafe, Tuscany Holiday Kitchen, and Wine and Wedge all blatantly mention beverages. Hope you’re thirsty!
We can’t wait for Disney to release the actual menus to see if our intuition was correct. There are a few things we’re hoping will be part of the lineup this year, like the Macaron Christmas Tree at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie, which was new last year. Some long-time favorites include the Coquito Soft Serve at Refreshment Port, Cheese Fondue Bread Bowl at Bavaria Holiday Kitchen in Germany, and the Frozen Hot Chocolate Martini at Le Marche de Noel Holiday Kitchen.
Oh, and you’ll also be able to participate in the Cookie Stroll this year, as Disney announced that it would return! You can receive stamps for cookies you purchase throughout the park, and then redeem your stamped passport for a special prize at the end.
What do you think? Are you pumped about this year’s holiday lineup in EPCOT? We’ll continue to keep you updated with more Disney news, including when MENUS arrive for the Holiday Kitchens. Make sure to follow along for more so that you never miss a thing.
