Did you know about the NEW holiday party coming to Disney World?
Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a separately ticketed event that will take place on ten select nights from November 11th through December 20th, 2023. There’s going to be a lot to do at the party, but what about all the Hollywood Studios RIDES? Disney has confirmed that at least these four popular rides will be OPEN during Jollywood Nights.
This party boasts lots of exciting new events, including exclusive character meet-and-greets, the lively Holiday Fiesta En La Calle, a holiday special hosted by the Muppets, and a speakeasy-inspired jazz lounge.
However, one of the best things about after-hours events like this is that you get to hop on those popular rides and roller coasters with much lower wait times than normal! So exactly WHICH rides will stay open during the event? Disney has confirmed that at least these four WILL be open:Â
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
On the website, it says, “And more!” So it sounds like other rides will also be open but Disney just hasn’t released the full list yet.
Note that there will still be a virtual queue used for Rise of the Resistance. Disney says, “A virtual queue will be in place for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance—so you can spend more time on the dance floor.” They haven’t announced yet when that virtual queue will open for Jollywood Nights guests, but we’ll be watching for more information.
There are also going to be lots of characters out at the party! You can meet Mickey, Minnie, and their pals in Animation Courtyard, say hello to Powerline Max and Phineas and Ferb at Echo Lake, or go to exchange fashion tips with Edna Mode at Pixar Place.
As part of the event, guests can view the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! nighttime fireworks and projections spectacular, enjoy exclusive treats, meet rare characters, and more.
Throughout the park, there will be unique music and entertainment inspired by different genres. On Commissary Lane, for example, you can explore the Holiday Fiesta En La Calle, while Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy will host a live holiday special over at Theater of the Stars with some other Disney special guests (like Princess Tiana and Belle). Jack Skellington himself will host a special sing-along themed to Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas at Hyperion Theater, and a DJ will spin holiday tunes on Hollywood Boulevard.
Meanwhile, look out for two limited-capacity entertainment experiences happening during the event: The Hollywood Brown Derby will transform into a speakeasy-inspired jazz lounge (think singalong piano bar!), and The Hollywood Tower Hotel Courtyard will host an “other-worldly soiree” with a ghostly band (the idea here is that Disney has recreated the Tip Top Club from the Tower of Terror lore)!
We’ll keep watching for more updates, so stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney World news!
