The new year is almost here and with that are coming some BIG changes in Disney World.

Magic Kingdom

Starting in January, Disney is updating the way you plan your trip to the parks. These changes will include returning to normal park hopping and getting rid of most park reservations (for date-based tickets). We’ve recently noticed another change that will affect you if you plan to go to Disney World on January 29th, 2024.

Starting January 9th, 2024, you’ll be able to park hop ALL DAY and if you have a date-based ticket, you’ll no longer need a park reservation. Also, on that same day, you’ll be able to enjoy the Disney Dining Plan again.

But what’s happening on January 29th that you need to know about? On January 29th, Magic Kingdom will be closing early! On that day Magic Kingdom will be closing at 4:30PM. That will be an early day in the park and you may want to park hop somewhere else if you start in Magic Kingdom.

This is a great example of why it’s important to always be checking your My Disney Experience app. Disney changes things all the time, and the best way to stay up to date (besides following DFB, of course) is to check the app.
