We would like to take a moment of silence for the Christmas decorations at Walt Disney World.
There are SO many things happening today at Walt Disney World. From the return of the Disney Dining Plan to park hopping going back to normal — there is A LOT of change. Time to buckle up, folks. While it wasn’t a fundamental change to your Walt Disney World experience, when we realized that Christmas is officially GONE at Magic Kingdom… it made us feel some type of way, and we’re not afraid to admit that.
We began to notice the lack of Christmas decor when we arrived at the Ticket and Transportation Center this morning as we headed over to Magic Kingdom — but we were hoping that some of the big decorations would still be up once we got into the park.
When we arrived at Magic Kingdom, we noticed big changes before we even entered the park. The train station used to be filled with a ton of Christmas spirit. There was garland everywhere, twinkle lights filling the fence of the train station, and festive red and green flowers in the planter. We’re not completely devastated that the decor is gone, we just… need a moment to process it.
Now that we are in the parks, the changes are even more apparent than they were before. The giant Christmas tree at the top of Main Street, U.S.A., has been taken down. The good news? We are FINALLY able to see Cinderella Castle from the top of Main Street again! We have to say, as much as we LOVED the holiday decorations, we’re excited that we can finally get this view again. Regardless, we do miss that level of festivity in the park and are already looking forward to next November when the decorations will be put up again.
While we’re still reeling from the lack of holiday decorations — we know it is time for them to go. We’re still SO impressed at how quickly the turnaround is for the removal of holiday decorations. Yesterday it felt like we were still in holiday mode, and today it feels like just a normal day — which, to be fair, it is just a normal day.
We’re live in the parks all day today giving you different updates about all of the BIG CHANGES that are happening, so keep checking in with us at DFB to see what we find next!
