Disney World is changing all the time and that likely isn’t stopping anytime soon.
They’ve teased potential expansion plans for NEW themed areas “Beyond Big Thunder Mountain” in Magic Kingdom and discussed a DinoLand U.S.A. re-theme in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. And, while these may just be ideas for now, we’ve got a few signs that other changes could be happening a bit sooner.
We’re taking another look at recently filed permits for Disney World to get an idea of what sort of work may be going on around the property — here’s what we found this time around.
Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is undergoing quite a transformation — Disney announced that the Cabins at Fort Wilderness would be getting a makeover. Imagineers are redesigning these spaces to become the Disney Vacation Club Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort.
Quite a few permits were recently filed for electrical work throughout the campgrounds and cabin area at Fort Wilderness. We spotted a permit for the Meadow Pool bathrooms and another set of bathrooms, but we’ll keep an eye out for even more news from this resort.

Four Seasons Orlando
Anyone up for some pickleball in the near future? Soon enough, you’ll be able to play at the Four Seasons on Disney World property!
We found a new permit that indicates the Four Seasons will be replacing one of their tennis courts into four separate pickleball courts. Of course, you’ll need to book a stay at the Four Seasons to take advantage of these, but there are other Disney World hotels you can play pickleball at too — check out the list below:
- Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
- Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
- Disney’s Old Key West Resort
