We’re counting down until Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens in Disney World!
While we don’t have an official opening date quite yet, we do know that the ride is expected to start welcoming folks sometime this year. Disney has given us a sneak peek into the story, the ride, and even behind-the-scenes details about what has gone into the creation of this attraction. But, there’s one thing we think will SHOCK you about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will pick up the story of The Princess and the Frog “after the final kiss, and join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure – featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance.” After the film ends, Princess Tiana makes her dream come true when she opens her very own restaurant, Tiana’s Palace, along with becoming the owner of Tiana’s Foods — there’s just one small problem.
Disney hasn’t shared any plans about a potential Tiana’s Palace restaurant coming to Disney World to go along with the attraction. We know they could, as we’ve seen it firsthand with the Disneyland version of the restaurant. So, what gives?
Well, let’s first say that we don’t know if Disney doesn’t already have plans to bring Tiana’s Palace to Magic Kingdom. We’re not privy to the ins and outs of Imagineering and it’s entirely possible that some Disney executive is going to read this article and laugh because they know something we don’t. But, at the time of press, Disney hasn’t made any official announcements.
And, if you ask us, Disney would be wise to bring Tiana’s Palace to Magic Kingdom if only for the sheer fact that several people think it’s coming already.
We think the “Tiana’s Foods” signs plastered across the construction walls likely have something to do with it. Once, we saw some folks looking at the posters and saying things like, “They must be putting the dining room up there,” and, “There’s going to be a restaurant on the ground level.”
Over in Disneyland, Tiana’s Palace replaced The French Market Restaurant in New Orleans Square and serves up Creole and Cajun classics (and BEIGNETS!) Magic Kingdom could use some revitalization in the dining department — we often talk about how it’s our least favorite park when it comes to dining, and there’s a reason for that. Fingers crossed Disney decides to do something about it.
No matter what, we’ll be keeping an eye out for any updates about a potential Tiana-themed restaurant coming to Magic Kingdom. And, for the latest Tiana’s Bayou Adventure news and more from Disney World, stay tuned to DFB!

Tom Welsh says
I predict that the ride, and the restaurant, (if it happens) will go the way of the Tiki Room “under new management.”
Benjamin Pfister says
Sadly, no. The only thing I had hopes for on this coming to MK actually was the idea of putting Tiana’s Palace in the old Briar Patch gift shop.
Matthew Brewster says
As for where to put Tiana’s Place, why not use all that empty space where guests used to exit the ride, behind the railroad tracks?
