There is just SO much going on in Disney World right now — so many things are changing!
We’ve got new restaurants on the way at Disney’s BoardWalk Hotel. We’ve got a land re-theme coming up in Animal Kingdom. We’ve got a whole EXPANSION planned for Magic Kingdom. Plus, Magic Kingdom is getting a new ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (formerly Splash Mountain). Well, we’ve got a big update about that ride!
We’ve been checking up on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure nearly every day, especially as we get closer to its official opening this summer (which is WAY earlier than we originally expected). We saw the pretty water tower go up, and we saw the ride get converted from red clay to a green salt dome with flowers. We’ve started to notice smaller details, as well as seen the ride vehicles running through the ride. It’s so exciting! Here’s what it looked like last time we checked:
Previously, most of the structure of the ride was covered in scaffolding, meaning that work on the exterior was still in progress. Well, today, the scaffolding on the top of the ride is GONE. This is a BIG step towards the big opening date — the less scaffolding we see, the closer we’re getting!
Note that there is still scaffolding on the sides of the ride, so those parts are still being worked on.
Even more scaffolding has come down at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! ✨🐸 pic.twitter.com/Oyija1bhlP

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will pick up shortly after the end of The Princess and the Frog. Tiana has her own restaurant and her own food co-op. She’s throwing a MASSIVE party for the folks of New Orleans, but she’s missing a key ingredient, and she will need US to go into the bayou to find it. Of course, that will lead us on an adventure through the ride that culminates with the big drop.
Disney recently released a first look at the Tiana animatronic, and, y’all, it looks SO good. The company also announced it’s going to make us HUNGRY while we’re waiting in the queue with the smell of fresh beignets. There will be original music inspired by the movie, plus many of the movie’s voice actors are returning to reprise their roles for the ride. SO EXCITING!
You know we’ll be around for the previews of the ride, as well as opening day — we’re “Almost There!”
