We love to dine at Disney World!
As you know we always say “Food IS a Theme Park.” Disney is known to have some fun and tasty food options that you could spend a whole day snacking and eating around the park. There is one time that we always regret eating at, and we are here to warn you about it!
Lines get long everywhere during common mealtime periods. Have you ever tried going through a drive-thru at noon? Well, the same thing goes for Disney parks! It gets CROWDED at lunchtime! Lunchtime lines are no joke, and you do not want to have to wait in them! We know you need to eat lunch, so here are some tips for eating lunch at Disney World!
Mobile Order
Mobile Ordering is a lifesaver in the parks. Certain restaurants around the resort and in the parks offer Mobile Ordering. When we see that Mobile Order is offered we go for it! If you do not know if a restaurant offers Mobile Order you can check the My Disney Experience app. Sometimes Cast Members will even encourage you to Mobile Order when you get to your desired dining location.
So what exactly is Mobile Order? Mobile Order is a tool within the My Disney Experience app. You can choose a pick-up time for your order. We recommend scheduling your pick-ups when you start your day. This is for a few reasons, the first being it can take the stress out of your day and allow you to have peace of mind knowing that your food is already ordered.
The second reason is that Mobile Order times disappear based on demand. Sometimes you will see a restaurant that has no Mobile Order window for two hours since all the spots are taken. Do not let this be you, and make sure to order in advance to secure the window that you want. Don’t worry, if you change your mind you can always cancel your order or move your arrival window!
The best part of using Mobile Order? You get to skip the line! By using Mobile Order you no longer have to wait in a line to place your order! This can help save you so much time, time that can be used towards your park day.

Dine at Off Times
There are certain times at Disney World that we have noticed are less busy for dining. To start, the times you should avoid are 8-9 AM, noon-1:30 PM, and 6-7 PM. These are the times that most people want to eat, and while we know you probably do as well, avoiding these times can save you a headache. It is not only hard to wait in lines during these times, but finding a table can be a whole ordeal that you don’t want to have to deal with!
So what about the times you should eat at? We recommend thinking of having brunch instead of a breakfast between 10:30 and 11AM or a late lunch between 2-4PM. As for dinner, late dinners have less crowds between 8-9 PM. If you do not want to wait this long, your best bet for quick service meals is to arrive just as doors are about to open for breakfast and lunch.
Make Advance Dining Reservations
You can also avoid the lunchtime rush by making advance dining reservations 60 days before your arrival. If you want to eat at a table service restaurant in the park without a reservation, it can be tough to find openings. While sometimes openings do pop up, we recommend making sure you have those lunch reservations squared away before you arrive.
By having a lunch reservation, you are setting yourself up for success! You do not have to stress about finding a table or going up to order/pick up your food. Having a mid-day table service meal can also help you re-charge for the day, giving you a moment to sit down and breathe!

We might not be able to make the crowds go away during the lunchtime rush at Disney World, but hopefully, these three tips can set you up for an easier and stress-free lunch experience!
