What are the most iconic things about Disney World? The food and the rides, right?!
Now, food is our thing, but we’re totally with you about the rides, too! When you’re planning for your next trip to Disney World, you’ve always got to keep an eye on which rides aren’t running so that you can plan accordingly. To that end, if you’re planning a trip in April, be prepared for these next few rides and attractions to be closed.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
As long as you haven’t been napping under a rock for the past few years, you know a good deal about the new ride taking over the old Splash Mountain, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. There has been so much construction progress that has been happening recently, and that’s great because this ride is slated to open this summer in Disney World!
We’re keeping a close eye on all the progress so we can find out just what this bayou adventure will entail. Keep up all the excitement with us and we’ll keep you updated as we get closer to opening!
Country Bear Jamboree
We’re staying in Magic Kingdom for this one. Yes, you’re right. Country Bear Jamboree isn’t a ride per se, but it’s so popular that it deserves a place on this list. The attraction is currently down as Disney is performing an extensive overhaul.
It closed back on January 27th, 2024, and is slated to re-open this summer with a brand-new show featuring new songs! So, you won’t be able to see the show in April, but you might happen to meet one of the bears walking around if you’re strolling through Magic Kingdom.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
Let’s hop on over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for this next one. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closed for a lengthy refurbishment back on January 8th. It’s an exciting, indoor coaster that you blast around on listening to Aerosmith hits.
It’s currently slated to reopen again this coming summer. We saw this same kind of refurb schedule back in 2023 when it closed in February and reopened in May. That may happen again, but it will for sure be closed in April.Â
Doubloon Lagoon Pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter
Doubloon Lagoon at Port Orleans — French Quarter has a 51-foot long water slide that looks like a sea serpent, a whirlpool spa, and Mardi Gras decorations. The pool closed back in January and will stay closed through April 2024, so depending on when you come to Disney, this pool may be open.
If you come before they reopen and want to take a swim, head over to Ol’ Man Island at Port Orleans — Riverside, which is an easy walk from the French Quarter. Ol’ Man Island is actually a pool complex! The pool area there has waterfalls, a 95-foot waterslide, a whirlpool, and a kiddie pool.
The Mardi Grogs pool bar is also closed for refurbishment through April 2024. In the meantime, the Mardi Grogs menu is available at the nearby temporary pool bar.
Blizzard Beach
Blizzard Beach, one of two water parks in Walt Disney World, closed for refurbishment on March 17th. The Disney World website shows that the closure will last as far as the calendar goes, and we haven’t heard any sort of official announcements for a reopening date.
In the meantime, you can hit up Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park to get your water park fill, which re-opened on March 17th, 2024.
Hopefully, these closures don’t put a wrench in your plans! We’re always checking for closures, so keep following DFB for more Disney news!
