2025 is right around the corner, and that means that your vacations are too!
If you’re planning on staying on property during your Disney World vacation, there are a lot of hotels to choose from. No hotel is a bad choice, per say, but they are very different from each other, so it’s important to realize what’s best for you and your group may not be the same for another. These mistakes are ones you’ll definitely want to avoid though, no matter where you stay on property!
Not Taking Advantage of The New Water Park Perk
Starting in 2025, guests staying at any Disney World hotel can get FREE admission to Disney World’s water park (whichever is open at that time, as they do trade-off) on the day of their check-in! This is especially great if you’re arriving in the middle of the day and don’t want to buy a whole other park ticket just to spend half the day (or less) inside the park — instead, you can visit the water park for free!
Now, if you’re not big water park fans, or you don’t think your family will be, then this may not be a great perk. However, we still think it’s worth trying it out (since it’s free and all), and then if you’re not a fan, you can head over to Disney Springs and check out their shopping and dining options. It can be a great way to save just a little bit more on your vacation — not paying for that extra park ticket.
Disney World’s New Hotel Perk Is About to Cause Chaos in 2025
Not Booking Your Trips BEFORE Price Increases
Disney World annually sees price increases on pretty much everything — hotels, park tickets, dining, merchandise, etc. These typically happen anywhere between October and February each year, so we could be seeing them arrive any day now. What does that mean for your trip? Well, if you haven’t already booked your 2025 trip and you know when you’re going and where you’d like to stay, book it NOW before those price increases happen!
We know, sorry for the sudden timeline, but as we never know how much things are going to increase, it’s best to lock in these lower prices while you can. The last thing you want is to be kicking yourself thinking “if I had only booked it a month earlier, we could have saved [insert amount of money]!”

Not Using A Travel Agent To Get The BEST Deal
Travel agents are entirely free to use, and not only do they take a lot of the planning stress out of your hands, but they’ll also keep an eye on Disney World’s deals and discounts page for you. If any new deals pop up after you’ve booked your trip, they’ll apply it to your vacation and you could save money without having to do ANY of the work!
We personally love our friends at Small World Vacations — we’ve used them time and time again and have loved our vacations every time. Again, they don’t cost a PENNY to use, and we think dealing with less stress planning your trip for NO extra cost is one of the best deals out there.
Should I Use a Travel Agent for My Disney Trip?
Staying at a Skyliner Resort in January
Lastly, this one throws a lot of people off. When you choose to stay at a Disney World hotel on the Skyliner, you want to be able to use that perk right? It’s a must for many to have that extra mode of transportation, and the last thing you want is to find out that it’ll be closed during your vacation.
The Skyliner has closed for about a week in January for the past few years to undergo routine maintenance and keep everything working properly and safely. Often it’s only for a few days or a week-ish at a time, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t affect your vacation. Resorts and parks affected by the Skyliner closures are:
- Art of Animation Resort
- Pop Century Resort
- Caribbean Beach Resort
- Riviera Resort
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- EPCOT
Is Skyliner Transportation Really Worth Spending More of Your Hotel Budget For?
Buses will be available for transportation during the closure, so you won’t be left stranded, but you might be a little mad that you paid more than other resorts for the Skyliner, and you won’t even be able to use it.
