We’re spilling the beans on where our planning, stomachs, and timing all failed us this year at Disney World. Mostly, I end up being a Disney World girlie by nature of my job — I work as a Disney World reporter and writer here at DFB. But when I get the chance to visit other theme parks in the area, I jump at it! A little while back, I had a triple whammy week where I went to Disney World for work one day, Epic Universe for work another day, and then ended up with my family at SeaWorld Orlando. It was my first time visiting SeaWorld in nearly 20 years, and I learned a really important lesson!

If you’re planning on staying on property during your Disney World vacation, there are a lot of hotels to choose from. No hotel is a bad choice, per say, but they are very different from each other, so it’s important to realize what’s best for you and your group may not be the same for another. These mistakes are ones you’ll definitely want to avoid though, no matter where you stay on property!

Maybe we forgot to pack our rain gear, even though we know how finicky Florida weather can be. Maybe we forgot to try to get a virtual queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and then all spots are gone and we’ll have to pay for Lightning Lane Single Pass if we want to ride it. We also do a lot of people-watching in Disney World and see how there are some things in Disney World that are so confusing that often throw people off. Well, we’ve got one particular thing in Magic Kingdom to point out that you’ll want to be aware of.
It’s almost October in Disney World, and that means we can all celebrate as it drops a few degrees in temperature!

It also means that the month of Halloween will officially arrive, even though Disney World has been celebrating since August. We can’t wait for next month to hit, but for those of you taking a trip next month, there are a few things you need to know about before you step into the parks. Namely, some mistakes we don’t want you to make!
We say it all the time, and we won’t stop because it’s SO true — choosing where to eat in Disney World is BEYOND hard.

First, you’ve gotta figure out what your budget for the trip is, and how much of it is allocated to dining, and THEN you need to decide what table service restaurants to book (up to 60 days before your trip begins) and what meals you’ll stop at quick service restaurants for. On the Disney World website and My Disney Experience App, you’ll find that each restaurant has a number of dollar signs that can help you get a quick picture of how much it costs. However, it’s easy to make a mistake at a select few of these restaurants, and we’re BEGGING you not to fall victim to it!
