While we usually keep our eyes focused hard on Disney parks around the world and all the latest news coming out of each one, we also keep an eye on the OTHER theme parks around Orlando, because they often all influence each other!

This past week especially, Orlando theme parks have dropped some MAJOR ride news — one announcement that will affect your trip right now, and two that may make you BOOK trips in the future to these parks. This is news you WON’T want to miss!
If you’re looking for something a little different for your next Orlando trip, you might want to skip Disney World and Universal Orlando and visit SeaWorld Orlando instead.

Why? Well, SeaWorld Orlando has a lot of fun attractions, plus you can spend some time getting to know some sea-worthy animals. SeaWorld Orlando even has a ride that rivals Soarin‘. AND a brand new dark ride is coming in 2026 that will take you to dizzying depths underneath the sea.
Halloween season has officially hit Orlando, and while you may be most familiar with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World and Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando, there’s ANOTHER event you can’t miss this year.
It’s time for Howl-O-Scream!
Over at SeaWorld Orlando, you’ll find their Howl-O-Scream event back this season, and it’s full of more frights than you may have ever expected to see in this theme park! While this event has the lowest-priced tickets of all three events, is it truly worth the cost? We went on opening night, and in our opinion, the answer is YES!
I literally get paid to go to Disney World for my job, so it’s safe to say that I spend more time in theme parks than the average person.

I’m in the parks at least once a week, clocking tens of thousands of steps, eating theme park snacks, battling the Central Florida weather, and taking seemingly one million pictures and videos while doing all of the above. It’s an absolutely spectacular job that I wouldn’t trade for any other career…but sometimes those theme parks can be BRUTAL. And recently, one Central Florida park nearly took me out!

Mostly, I end up being a Disney World girlie by nature of my job — I work as a Disney World reporter and writer here at DFB. But when I get the chance to visit other theme parks in the area, I jump at it! A little while back, I had a triple whammy week where I went to Disney World for work one day, Epic Universe for work another day, and then ended up with my family at SeaWorld Orlando. It was my first time visiting SeaWorld in nearly 20 years, and I learned a really important lesson!
SeaWorld Orlando has a lot of great offerings that those visiting the Orlando area, especially for one of their first times, may not want to miss out on!

Disney released a casting call for two of their Halloween festivities that confirmed their return, and Universal has made a few small announcements about Halloween Horror Nights — but now it’s SeaWorld Orlando’s turn. If you were thinking of attending the park’s Howl-O-Scream’s event this year, you don’t want to miss this massive new sale!
While Disney World might be the most magical place on Earth, that doesn’t mean that nothing bad ever happens in the park.

The Orlando area theme parks receive millions of visitors each and every year. And while we wish it was always sunshine and daisies, injuries do happen at Disney World, Universal, and SeaWorld.
Disney World’s customer service is known for being top-notch. If something goes awry on your vacation, chances are a Cast Member will be able to sprinkle a little bit of pixie dust and make all your problems disappear.
