Theme parks in Florida have been reopened for a few weeks now, following temporary closures. Universal Orlando was one of the first, initially reopening in early June.

As the global health crisis continues, the Universal Orlando (and Walt Disney World) are continuing to tweak their health and safety procedures that may impact your trip, especially those concerning face coverings.
Universal Orlando just reopened its doors to guests weeks ago.

Even though Universal’s hotels are open, CityWalk locations are reopening, and the theme parks are resuming operations, it appears the company has taken steps to let go a number of employees even after operations have resumed.
Since theme parks have started to reopen, one of their highest priorities has been implementing stricter health and sanitation procedures.
Disney Springs Sign
Although Disney World and Disneyland haven’t welcomed guests back just yet (but will soon!!), Disney has still started to implement some of its heath and safety procedures in Disney Springs. On top of the temperature checks, social distancing measures, and face mask requirements, restrooms (yes, restrooms) have even switched things up, too.
The last year has brought some significant changes to theme parks.

We’ve been seeing a TON of changes as Florida theme parks (and beyond) reopen from their historic closures this year, but our focus is on an even more noticeable change. Prior to the closures, we started to see Virtual Queues in theme parks, and now they’re expanding more as a health measure. Universal Orlando reopened a little over a week ago to greet all sorts of guests, show off its new Virtual Queue system, and introduce U-Rest locations (even if there were some bumps in the road throughout the day).

Disney Springs and Universal Orlando’s CityWalk reopened a few months ago and brought about several big changes — some of which are taking a little more getting used to than others! 😉

We attended one of the Annual Passholder early access days this week and getting into the park was relatively simple. But on this first day open to the general public, one particular aspect of getting into the parks has been a little bit crazy so far!
