You might be heading to Disney World or Universal for theme park fun or even the beach for a relaxing time in the sun. While there is lots of fun to be had in Florida, there can also be things you need to be cautious of. One of the “world’s worst invaders” has now popped up in the state, and you need to be prepared before your next visit.
If you can count on anything in Disney World, it’s that the weather is going to be unpredictable.
Now, we don’t expect a snowstorm to pop up in the middle of July. However, you can expect super hot and humid days that will make you pray for rain…which will show up in the form of random storms pretty much any time of the day. It’s also hurricane season, though, and that means that tropical systems that form in the Atlantic often have the chance to impact Florida. Well, buckle up, because the holiday weekend could be seeing something just like that.

If you’ve been considering a Disney World trip for 2025, heads up: You may want to keep your calendar open for late this year.
According to a report in the Orlando Business Journal, several Central Florida counties are expecting visitor levels and tourism to “level off” as the year goes on.
I know, I know, you might be wondering, why would I ever want to leave Disney World? I get it; Disney World is a special place, and even though I’ve visited the parks hundreds of times, it still hasn’t gotten old.
There is nothing quite like the feeling of passing under the Walt Disney World arch and knowing you’re in for a great day. Whether it be visiting happy haunts in Magic Kingdom or discovering how to live with the land in EPCOT, Disney World will always hold a special place in my heart. However, I also want to encourage you to LEAVE Disney World while you are in Central Florida!
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Red Flag warning for much of Central Florida, including Osceola and Orange counties — where Disney World is located.
The Red Flag warning will be in effect from 11 AM to 6 PM on Thursday, March 6th, 2025.
