Air travel is changing in 2025, and we’re keeping you updated on all the latest news you need to know about!
Traveling can be tricky, whether it’s to Orlando International Airport to visit Disney World or any airport in the world, really. Fortunately, we’ve got you covered with tips and unspoken rules that could help make your next flight as smooth as possible!
If you’re flying in 2025, here are 3 unspoken rules that could absolutely aid you during your time at the airport!
Read Up On Rule Changes
If you’re flying in 2025 and beyond, get ready for a MASSIVE rule change!
Starting this year, REAL IDs will be REQUIRED to fly domestically. This change had been in the process for YEARS but officially went into effect in May.
These are the kinds of things you want to read up on before travel. Always know what kind of rules are being implemented with air travel to help ease the flying process. As our society continues to change, so too will these rules. That’s why it’s super important to stay in the know.
Consider Convenience
Air travel can be a pain thanks to inconveniences like long TSA line waits. That’s why you should consider convenient options that help save time and stress, even if they cost some extra cash.
Purchasing security time-savers like TSA Pre-Check and Clear Plus can easily be worth the cost, thanks to all the time you’ll actually save.
If you’re traveling through Orlando, check out MCO Reserve — a FREE service that lets you schedule a time slot to go through security before your flight while skipping the main line. You’ll need to register in advance, and can learn more about it by clicking HERE.
Pack Smarter
Traveling with checked luggage is about to get more expensive.
This year, Southwest Airlines ended its 60-year tradition of letting passengers check two bags for free, and bring a personal item and carry-on on board. So much for “Bags fly free..”, as now Southwest charges flyers for their first and second bag, making packing way more difficult.
Rapid Rewards A-List Preferred Members and customers traveling on Business Select fares still receive two free checked bags. A-list Members and other select customers also receive one free checked bag. Rapid Rewards Credit Card members can still check one bag for free.
However, everyone else will need to rely on carry-on bags or make better spatial use of one checked bag if they want to minimize spending.
