Destination D23 is just around the corner, and this huge Disney fan event is usually where Disney announces all of its new projects for the Disney Parks. Disney has decided to release some news early for Hollywood Studios.

Let’s break down all of the new announcements coming to Hollywood Studios!

In 2026, The Magic of Disney Animation will be coming to Animation Courtyard! This space will let you “interact with and explore silly takes on the iconic Disney Animation headquarters, including the many different studio departments.”

The building will also be topped with Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat! This is such an iconic throwback, and we’re so excited to have it back in Hollywood Studios. It will also cast a spell with pixie dust.

Star Wars: Launch Bay will also be closing to make room for these new experiences. It will close on September 25th, 2025.

Disney Jr. Play and Dance! will also be closing on September 25th as they work on a “fresh Disney Jr. show.”

Changes are coming!

Drawing classes sound like they’ll be back in Hollywood Studios, too. Disney suggests that we “pencil in some time to learn how to draw your very own character sketch.”

Animation Academy

A brand-new playground is also coming in, called “Drawn to Wonderland.” It will be based on Mary Blair’s concept art for Alice in Wonderland. The playground will be filled with “an oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea Party playset, and a Tulgey Wood exploration area.” It will be indoors and perfect for little ones.

There will also be character meet and greets! In the concept art, we see Goofy and Pluto, but we wonder who else will be there.

We’re excited for the grass and trees, too. Disney says guests will be able to “play, relax, or snack on tasty treats under lush trees,” and if we look around, “you never know who you might see playing in the branches, soaking up the sun, or digging in the grass.”
