Happy Halloween! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has officially started in the Magic Kingdom, and we’re spilling all the details on how to make the most of your party night. Among the treats, entertainment, and characters, you might look past the rides while you have a limited time for your party. Here’s why that’s a mistake.

The party map!
While most attractions are available during regular park hours, some have special overlays that you won’t want to miss. These are only available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so if you want to see them, make sure you prioritize them during the party.
Three attractions will get a special overlay with a spooky twist! You can find them listed in the map guide!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Map
First is Space Mountain! Disney turns off all (and we mean ALL) the lights inside so you can’t see anything during the ride. Trust us, this definitely makes this relatively tame coaster SO much more intense.

Halloween Lighting
They’ll also change the music to a spooky soundtrack to add to the Halloween feeling. We don’t have any pictures from inside (for obvious reasons), but imagine being in the pitch black with lots of screaming while having the time of your life. This is a very popular attraction when it has overlays, so make sure you plan ahead of time to ride it.
Next is the Mad Tea Party! The Mad Hatter must have a Halloween side because the lights around the tea cups change for the holiday.
Because this is such a short ride, we usually don’t have any issues hopping in for a quick spin. If you enjoy the normal version but want a fun twist, make sure this is on your checklist.
Lastly, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor makes Halloween-themed jokes!
While we do love Halloween jokes, we also love the air conditioning from the show. If you want a couple of minutes to sit inside and relax before continuing your party, we recommend stopping here.
There are also several rides open during the night that don’t have overlays. While we wouldn’t prioritize these, it’s great to know you can hop on your favorite attraction with potentially lower wait times.
