This Disney Attraction Is Expanding AND Getting a New Scene!

An expansion has been announced for Soaring Over the Horizon at Shanghai Disney!

Shanghai Disney just announced that Soaring Over the Horizon will be getting an approximately 50% increase in current capacity AND there will be a new special ending for the attraction!

Similar to Soarin’ Around the World in EPCOT, Soaring Over the Horizon takes riders on an exhilarating flight over some of the wonders of the world. Soon, the attraction will increase its capacity by about 50% and a new ending will be added, taking riders over Shanghai Disney. Plus, there will be even more magical surprises!

Shanghai Disney hasn’t announced when the expansion will be complete yet, but it has said to stay tuned for more updates. We will let you know as we hear more about the expansion of Soaring Over the Horizon! While we don’t know a timeline yet for Soaring Over the Horizon, we do know that Shanghai Disney is currently celebrating Duffy Month!

During the month of September, you can celebrate Duffy and his friends. There will be photo opportunities including a Duffy-themed floral set and miniature sets to take pictures with your Duffy and Friends plushes! Plus, there will be new outfits for each of the friends. You can also check out special entertainment and grab exclusive merchandise and food items.

Then, beginning October 4th, Seas the Halloween season kicks off with two new experiences at Treasure Cove. A brand-new show called “Buccaneer Bash,” which will follow Captain Nova and her crew for “an immersive evening of pirate mischief and carnival games.” It will use live performances, interactive activities, games, food, and merchandise. There’s also a new pirate theme at Barbossa’s Bounty with new dishes, although Disney didn’t give more details just yet. These events wrap up on November 1st.
