If you’re like me, then this is the absolute BEST time of year to be in the Disney World parks. Why? IT’S HOLLY JOLLY SEASON!
That’s right, Disney World is getting into the holiday and Christmas spirit! We’ve seen seasonal merchandise out on the shelves, started to notice red and green snacks pop up around the resort, and now, the parks are getting decorated from top to bottom. This year, there’s even a little extra holiday magic in Magic Kingdom!
Starting out on Main Street, U.S.A., the Christmas tree is up in the park as of November 3rd! Christmas wreaths and garlands were up on November 2nd, but this tree is MASSIVE and takes a little extra attention to set up overnight.
It’s the same classic tree design that we’ve seen here in years past, with retro detailing like giant popcorn strands, golden bells, faux gingerbread ornaments, and big red bows. Very traditional Christmas style!
Underneath the tree, you’ll find a pile of giant presents and retro children’s toys, including the scary doll that somehow keeps making her way back into this park (YIKES!).
Moving away from Main Street, Magic Kingdom has some new decorations this year to check out! Like they did for Halloween, Storybook Circus has been decorated. There are massive candy canes wrapped around the poles on the entrance sign.
When you get further into the land, they have new Dumbo-inspired wreaths! They’re not quite as cute as the Dumbo pumpkins from Halloween, but that’s a really high bar that was set.
There are also new decorations surrounding Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The sign for the ride is decked out in garland…
…and there’s a Christmas tree next to the ride entrance! If you look closely, you’ll see Snow White-inspired details with the red bows, and dwarf-inspired gemstones throughout.
They’ve wrapped the lampposts in this area with garland with hidden details fitting to the ride as well.
Directly across from that ride, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh has some seasonal decor this year. Once again, the sign is decorated…
…and there’s a garden full of presents for the friends in the Hundred Acre Wood.
Each one is themed to the character it’s for! How precious is that?
The wreaths and garlands in this area are decorated with little honey bees. Pooh would love that.
UPDATE: If you’re driving to Magic Kingdom this holiday season, you’ll be happy to know that you will be greeted with Christmas decor as early as the parking lot! The Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC) has been decorated for the season.
There are wreaths and garlands up on the ticket booths as you head from security to the Monorail and ferry…
…AND they have the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party advertisement sign up now. The party starts on Friday, November 7th.
We can’t wait to see how the other parks get all decked out this year! We’ll keep you in the loop as we spot more decor.
