In the midst of rising prices and diminished value, Disney World is actually making it EASIER to snag a seat at one of the most popular lounges across the resort.
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Resort recently expanded its hours from the previous 3 PM to 12 AM, and will instead open earlier at 11 AM daily. This is welcome news for Disney and Tiki fans alike, but it looks like Disney isn’t stopping there. A Walk-up Waitlist has officially been added for Trader Sam’s in the My Disney Experience app!
It just got a whole lot easier to snag a seat at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto! In addition to expanding the bar’s hours, guests are now able to join a Walk-up Waitlist via the My Disney Experience app.
Previously, the only way to get into Trader Sam’s was to go to the bar and put your name on the physical waitlist with one of the Cast Members who works there, but now, you’ll be able to join the waitlist from the My Disney Experience app — as long as you’re within range. Typically, that means being somewhere on the Polynesian hotel property.
Combined with the updated hours — from 11 AM to 12 AM — this will hopefully make things much easier for people to experience this fun and lively bar. However, keep in mind that guests must be 21+ to enter the lounge after 8 PM.
If you’ve never been to Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto before and you’re a big fan of in-depth, interactive theming, as well as interesting drinks to go along with it, it’s 100% a place you can’t miss. The lounge is quite small, so grabbing a seat can be difficult, but not impossible! The new hours certainly make it easier!
The drinks here are truly unlike any others you’ll find around Disney World, and some of the ones you order even make things happen around the bar! One of our favorite parts about the lounge is that it has a history that matches up with other Disney history — many years ago, the famed Adventureland explorer Trader Sam was bitten by the bartending bug, and has been searching for exotic ingredients to mix into magical libations ever since.
We’ll be on the lookout for even more Disney dining updates you need to know about for Trader Sam’s and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more!
