Disney World isn’t the only resort in the U.S. getting some serious updates. Disneyland is also about to get some new things, including an Avengers Campus expansion with two rides, a new Avatar-themed land, and a new Coco ride. Well, those things are going to bring in a LOT more people, but there’s a problem…where are all those folks going to park?
Well, last year, Disney announced it had plans to build a new parking and transportation hub that would take care of that problem. Now, we’re starting to see movement on that project. According to ThemeParkIQ on X, Disneyland just filed a permit for work on the new parking and transportation hub’s site.
Disneyland just filed a permit to demolish a 70,732 sq. ft. office building, leaving behind only the foundation. The building is what is currently the Manchester Cast Member parking lot. This is all part of the new parking structure that will be part of a huge transportation hub on the east side of the resort.
The new parking structure and transportation hub will add about 6,000 new parking spaces to the area, as well as new shuttle and rideshare areas, new security screening areas, and dedicated access for traffic off of Disney Way. The concept art also includes a pedestrian bridge to be built over Harbor Boulevard.
It’s unclear if any of the current construction will affect those visiting the park, but we’ll keep an eye out for updates to keep YOU updated, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
